Eagle Farm Tips March 26
The Gibson Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)
Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 2 No. 8 Capital Beauty
The three-year-old demonstrated plenty of ability in placing in two of her three starts earlier this season.
The exception came when beaten just under five lengths into sixth in a 1000m maiden at this venue when making her debut at the end of September.
A good third over the same distance when beaten less than one-and-a-half-lengths followed prior to finishing one place better at Gold Coast at the start of November.
The pick raced over 1000m on a soft 5 surface when beaten three lengths at Gold Coast and she was spelled following that effort.
The daughter of Capitalist has shown up well in her barrier trials in recent times following up a Deagon second over 1050m with a win in a similar contest.
Both of those trials came on wet surfaces and while she failed to shine on the forecast soft 7 here on debut she has shown improvement since and looks value to salute here.

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 10 Moscow Circus
The daughter of Russian Revolution could finish only sixth when making her sole start for Anthony & Sam Freedman last August but she has shown improvement since switching stables.
That debut effort came on Pakenham’s synthetic track with the switch also seeing her race on turf for the first time when resuming with a third at Ballina last month.
The selection raced over 1000m on a soft 5 track when beaten half-a-length on that occasion and she finished one place better stepped up to 1200m here two weeks ago.
Matthew Dunn’s filly again encountered a wet track that day losing out by a narrow margin when racing on a soft 7 surface.
The pick raced on the pace last time out and she isn’t expected to have any issues jumping from barrier eight.
Damien Thornton is set to partner the filly for the first time here and stepping up in distance she is taken to break through for her first win.
Sky Racing Class 4 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Influential
The four-year-old recorded some good efforts in defeat in Sydney last prep including when placing three times in Benchmark 72 handicap event’s over 1600m at Warwick Farm.
The gelding joined current trainer Jimmy Downes prior to resuming in January and he came close to recording his first win for Downes when runner-up over 1350m at Doomben on his return to action.
The selection lost out by less than a length when contesting a 1350m Class 1 plate event that day and he duly went one better over the same track and trip next time.
That race has produced a number of subsequent winners including the second and third who have both won metro events in the interim.
The pick is expected to appreciate the drop to 1400m having been ridden prominently prior to fading over 1600m here last time.
The wet track forecast here shouldn’t be an issue with the gelding have gone well on soft going in the past and he is taken to record his second win of the year.

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 9 No. 10 Decisive Lass
Gary Nielsen’s mare demonstrated showed up well earlier this prep including when completing a double at Ballina when saluting by over two-and-a-half-lengths in a Benchmark 82 handicap in January.
That victory, which came over 1000m on a soft 7 surface was the second leg of a Ballina double having triumphed over 1015m when racing at Benchmark 66 level eight days earlier.
The selection proved that she can be competitive in metro contests when beaten one-and-a-half-lengths into fifth over 1110m at Doomben next time.
The daughter of Inference’s best form in recent times has come over around 1000m and with that in mind she can be forgiven a down the field effort at big odds over 1200m here subsequently.
The drop back in distance to 1050m for a small field Benchmark 65 handicap at Toowoomba last time out saw the mare place third under her jockey here Yvette Lewis.
The mare returns to a wet track here and she may prove capable of springing an upset in this contest.
