Randwick-Kensington Roughie - Race 3 No. 3 Barbray

This Chris Waller-trained debutant is very well-bred, being by Zoustar and out of Sempre Libera, with his dam out of Merlene (two-time Group 1 winner).

Barbray moved fairly in a quiet hit-out last November and he's furnished after another break, with the three-year-old winning a 900m trial at Rosehill on March 17.

He found the line well prior to that via a slowly run heat on March 6, where Barbray got the better of Monte Veebee and that galloper heads the early market.

Randwick-Kensington Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Campaldino

It had been a quiet start to the year for the Waterhouse & Bott stable, but they're really starting hit their straps as the Sydney Autumn Carnival heats up.

After preparing one winner from 49 starters in January, the partnership recorded eight winners in February and they're striking at 23% over March (15 winners).

Waterhouse & Bott have Campaldino, who is suited up in distance up after an honest 1400m return and he was brave without luck early in his first Australian prep.

Randwick-Kensington Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Roma Avenue

While he impressed in two trials ahead of his Hawkesbury return, Roma Avenue always takes a run to get warm and that February 20 attempt was no exception.

His second-up performance in a fast-run race suggests that he's not far away, with the six-year-old sticking on well for third in a race that favoured the swoopers.

Roma Avenue wasn't beaten far in third last campaign when well-backed via a Saturday BM94 at Randwick and each-way odds are available here in a midweek BM78.

Randwick-Kensington Value Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Iron Hawk

The Gary Portelli-trained three-year-old was a debut winner and he defeated Silmarillion in that Warwick Farm affair (she was a Listed winner two starts later).

His two subsequent efforts behind a smart Autumn Glow were both sound and it's worth noting that Iron Hawk has been gelded since a January 18 resumption.

There was money for Iron Hawk ahead of that Rosehill BM72 and leading into Wednesday's return tilt over a more suitable trip, he's bolted in with March 3 trial.
