The son of Zoustar ended his last preparation with a narrow victory in a 2240m Benchmark 74 handicap at Grafton in June.

While he has been unable to win in five starts this campaign, the gelding has remained competitive by finishing inside the top five on each occasion.

His most recent effort saw him fade late when finishing fifth, beaten four lengths, in a 2200m Benchmark 78 handicap at the Sunshine Coast last month.

He raced keenly early in that event and failed to see out the trip, with the drop back in distance expected to be in his favour here.

Matthew Dunn’s representative typically races on or near the speed and, despite a wide barrier, is taken to make full use of his low weight with Jett Newman back aboard.

The daughter of Ten Sovereigns made her first public appearance for the yard when narrowly winning a 1000m barrier trial at this venue in December.

She returned to racing with a narrow victory in a 1200m Benchmark 68 here last month, and with Jasper Franklin claiming three kilograms, she looks capable of going on with the job.

The five-year-old resumed with a solid second-place finish in a 1300m Benchmark 70 handicap.

He was then ridden with more restraint from a wide draw in the Magic Millions Country Cup, and dropping in grade while returning to 1350m gives him claims of outrunning his odds.

He stepped sharply in grade when resuming in the Magic Millions Country Cup over 1200m at the Gold Coast.

After jumping from a wide barrier and racing three off the rail, the son of Russian Revolution is taken to find this assignment more suitable second-up.
