Novak Djokovic continues his quest for a first Masters 1000 title since 2023 when he comes up against Lorenzo Musetti in the Miami Open R16 on Tuesday night.

Djokovic has understandably struggled to get up for and produce his best tennis outside of the slams and Olympics over the last 12 months - can the Serbian rev himself up in the 305 as he aims for an eighth Miami Masters title? Djokovic entered Miami on a three-match losing streak, but he's advanced into the fourth round without relinquishing a set in his two matches. This however will be a big step up in class.

Musetti has progressed into the Miami R16 for the second consecutive season and has pushed Djokovic numerous times in the past, despite the Serbian's lopsided record in the H2H. Given Djokovic's recent form, I'm expecting a tight contest here, so Over 22.5 total games is the play, while I will side with the seven-time Miami champion to dig out the win given his previous success in this matchup.

Djokovic has won seven of the eight previous meetings between the pair, including a most-recent victory en route to the Olympic Gold Medal in Paris last year. Musetti's only win came on the clay of Monte-Carlo in 2023.

Djokovic comes into this clash with a 9-4 record on the season as he aims to recapture his best tennis on a consistent basis.

The 37-year-old continues to break records on tour - after beating Camilo Ugo Carabelli 6-1 7-6 in his Miami third round, Djokovic overtook rival Rafael Nadal for most ever Masters 1000 wins with 411.

Djokovic is trying to bounce back from a rare three-match losing streak between the Australian Open, Doha and Indian Wells, where he suffered defeats to Alexander Zverev, Matteo Berrettini and Botic Van De Zandschulp.

After easing past Rinky Hijikata 6-1 7-6 in his opening round, Djokovic won 39/49 points behind his first serve in his victory over Ugo Carabelli in R3.

Lorenzo Musetti Form

Musetti comes into this encounter with a 7-3 record on the season - however, he has yet to really make an impact.

The Italian reached the third round of the Australian Open, losing to Ben Shelton in four sets, while he was forced to miss the bulk of the Golden Swing in February due to a minor injury.

Musetti returned to action in Indian Wells, where he went down to Arthur Fils, while he's progressed one round further this tournament in Miami.

The 23-year-old opened his campaign with a three-set victory over Quentin Halys before edging out Felix Auger-Aliassime 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 for his first top 20 win since October. Musetti's last four matches have now resulted in a deciding set.
