In an exciting matchup, five-time winner Novak Djokovic faces defending champion Jack Draper in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters. Both players enter the game after limited participation this season; Djokovic having reached the Australian Open final, and Draper returning from a significant injury hiatus. Draper's strong left-handed play suits the current court conditions well, while Djokovic has been seen working through some forearm issues. Historically, Djokovic leads their encounters but expects a challenging match as both bring strong form.

Novak Djokovic vs Jack Draper Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Five-time winner Novak Djokovic comes up against defending champion Jack Draper in a big fourth round Indian Wells Masters duel on Wednesday night.

Both players are competing in just their second tour-level event for the season - Djokovic obviously is playing a limited schedule in the twilight of his career, while Draper missed five months due to an arm injury, returning to action last month.

Despite limited time on the match court, both players bring pretty good form into this clash. Djokovic obviously made the Australian Open final in January, beating Jannik Sinner along the way, while Draper crushed the always-tough Francisco Cerundolo 6-1 7-5 in his previous round.

These courts are perfect for Draper's heavy left-handed game and he proved that last year when he registered two top five wins on his way to the silverware. Djokovic meanwhile has dropped a set in his two previous rounds against Kamil Majchrzak and Aleksandar Kovacevic. The Serbian is also dealing with some kind of forearm problem. I think this turns into a big battle and Draper looks okay value to cover - if he maintains his level and fitness from the Cerundolo victory.
  • Draper has won two of his last three matches vs top five opponents
  • Draper has won 11 of his 13 previous Indian Wells matches
  • Djokovic has seen Over 22.5 games in his last five Indian Wells matches
  • Draper has covered a +2.5 line in 14 of his last 17 matches
  • Djokovic has dropped a set in his last five Indian Wells matches

Djokovic vs Draper Head To Head

Novak Djokovic Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 7-1
  • ATP Indian Wells Record: 53-11
  • Current Ranking: No. 3
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 1 (2011)

Having first reached the No. 1 ranking 15 years ago, Djokovic is incredibly still inside the top 3 as he approaches his 39th birthday.

The Serbian's longevity is astounding and he's not slowing down after conquering Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open semi-finals before falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the final in four sets.

Opting to skip the Middle East swing, Djokovic is playing his first tournament since departing Melbourne Park in early February.

Not terribly unsurprisingly, Djokovic has been shaky in both matches, dropping sets in wins over Kamil Majchrzak (4-6 6-1 6-2) and Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4 1-6 6-4).

Djokovic is looking forward to testing himself against the defending champion in the R16.

“That (playing the next generation) is one of the biggest reasons why I am still here and competing with these young guys," Djokovic said.
"I want to see how they beat me - if they can - and that drives me every day to get better and prove to myself and others that I can still play at a high level.”

Jack Draper Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 4-1
  • ATP Indian Wells Record: 11-2
  • Current Ranking: No. 14
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 4 (2025)

Draper had established himself as a top five player last year after winning Indian Wells and making the final of Madrid, but another long-term injury surfaced and he was forced onto the sidelines again.

This time it was a niggling arm problem that caused Draper to withdraw from the US Open and shut down his season prematurely.

The Brit also missed the Aussie summer, returning in Dubai last month, where he beat Quentin Halys before going down to Arthur Rinderknech.

Draper has continued to improve, outlasting Roberto Bautista Agut to begin his Indian Wells title defence before registering an impressive 6-1 7-5 victory over Fran Cerundolo.

“Novak is the ultimate challenge,” said Draper.
“For me, he’s the greatest player of all time. I have ultimate respect for him, what he’s done for the game and what he’s still doing. I’m really looking forward to that match. It’s what I put all the work in for.”
