Cronulla Sharks vs Sydney Roosters NRL Round 6 Tips & Prediction - Sharks to make it three straight wins over Chooks

In their upcoming NRL Round 6 showdown, the Cronulla Sharks are predicted to secure a third consecutive victory against the Sydney Roosters, riding on their remarkable form in day games and the fast-paced 'six-again' rule. The Sharks, powered by Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall, are poised to exploit the Roosters' defensive inconsistencies. While the Roosters have experienced erratic performances this season, coming off a bye, they remain vulnerable. Expect a high-scoring encounter at Optus Stadium, with KL Iro also likely to shine, given the Roosters' struggles against outside backs.

Cronulla Sharks vs Sydney Roosters NRL Round 6 Tips & Prediction

The Sharks are tipped to register a third consecutive win over the Roosters in the second game at Optus Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

I'm admittedly always hesitant to back the Sharks, but they have become experts on a dry track and bring some pretty good form into this contest. The Roosters remain erratic and I'm not sure if the Sam Walker and Daly Cherry-Evans halves combo is quite where it needs to be to see off a team that will likely finish sixth or above.

Cronulla have won 16 of their last 21 days games - they are extremely dangerous off the front foot and the fast nature of the six-again rule plays right into their hands. Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall have been in electric form over the last fortnight and can lead their side to another victory out west.

The Roosters are coming off the bye following their big win over Manly, but that Sea Eagles side was diabolical and had basically given up under Anthony Seibold. In short, not really sure where the Chooks are at right now and have a bit more faith in Cronulla. I am confident there will be points - the Sharks aren't great defensively, while the Roosters rank 14th so far this season.

I also like KL Iro to cross for a four-pointer. Incredibly, 18 of the 19 total tries the Roosters have conceded this season have been to outside backs. Iro has scored in his last two games & comes up against an out-of-position Hugo Savala in the centres - I also don't mind the value for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd tryscorer.
  • Sharks have won the last two meetings between the teams
  • Sharks have won their last four games in Perth
  • Sharks have won 16 of their last 21 day games
  • Sharks have seen 56+ points in three of their five games this season
  • Roosters rank 14th in defence this season, conceding an average of 29 points per game
  • Three of the last four meetings have seen Over 48.5 points
  • KL Iro has scored a try in his last two games & in his last six games outside NSW
  • Eighteen of the 19 tries Roosters have leaked in 2026 have been to outside backs

Sharks vs Roosters Head To Head

The Sharks won two of the three meetings last year, including 20-10 victory in the opening week of the finals.

Cronulla Sharks Form Analysis

Pretty much what I've come to expect from the Sharks after the opening five rounds - some big wins and electric attacking footy combined with some atrocious performances and vulnerable defence.

Consistently inconsistent, flat-track bullies - we've heard it all before when it comes to Cronulla, but at the end of the day, they come into this clash following big back-to-back victories over the Raiders and Warriors, scoring 34 and 36 points.

Will Kennedy continued his great form to cross for a double in the 36-22 win over the Warriors, while second-rowers Teig Wilton and Billy Burns scored a try each for the second straight game.

Sydney Roosters Form Analysis

Tough to get a read on the Roosters after their opening four games.

As usual, they were slow out of the blocks as they conceded 40 points across the ditch to the Warriors, but they responded with a good win over Souths.

Like every other team this season, the Chooks were blown off the park by Penrith 40-4, but again responded with a big win over Manly, easing to 33-16 triumph before last week's bye. Obviously a fun night for DCE.

Much-maligned for their ill-discipline, the Roosters completed an incredible 96 per cent of sets in the torrential rain that night at 4 Pines and will need to remain at that high level if they are to be a genuine premiership force this season.

Sydney Roosters Team News

Some big inclusions for the Chooks this week as Spencer Leniu, Victor Radley and Egan Butcher come into the side.

Hugo Savala lines up in the centres for Billy Smith.
