A pair of encouraging Cranbourne jump-out placings suggested Winsilence was ready to improve ahead of his return to racing earlier this month.

The three-year-old could finish only fifth in a six-runner event at Pakenham in November in his lone start for his previous trainer before performing well when third over 1013m at this venue on a Heavy 9 surface.

Beaten just under two lengths that day, the gelding is expected to have taken improvement from his first run back.

The son of Ghaiyyath raced on the pace from barrier six last start and, while a wide draw isn't ideal, he is expected to derive a further fitness benefit from that effort.

Making just his third career start, the gelding is open to further improvement and, with the slight rise in distance likely to suit, looks value to salute with Jamie Mott retaining the ride.

Heavy-track form from New Zealand could prove the key for Humza Bey, who returns to more suitable conditions on Sunday.

The gelding won twice on rain-affected ground before crossing the Tasman to join the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr stable, with both defeats for his new yard coming on Good tracks.

The four-year-old trialled well ahead of his return to action before resuming with a dominant victory by over a length in Benchmark 70 company on a wet track.

That success came over 1200m and he is set to contest the same trip again.

The drop from metropolitan grade is another positive, while the presence of proven frontrunners Come Along Jeffrey and Mongolian City should ensure a genuine tempo for him to finish over the top.

Sale Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Zorro's Flight

Two wins from as many starts at Sale make this a notable return to a venue Zorro's Flight clearly enjoys.

The second of those victories came after he was awarded the race, having originally finished second on his penultimate appearance at the track.

Competing over 1411m, the gelding was ridden patiently before finishing strongly on a Heavy 8 surface.

The runner-up and fifth from that contest have both won since, with the selection also producing a solid second placing at Mildura at his most recent outing.

His effort at Mildura was the best of those ridden from off the speed, the rise in distance is no concern having placed over the trip previously, and despite a wide barrier he is expected to be charging home late with Jake Noonan aboard.
