Saturday's nine-race Morphettville meeting is headlined by the Listed Lightning Stakes, with a competitive mix of established sprinters and emerging talent featuring across the card.

The Dominant Advantage Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Sir Now

He's now deep into the prep and has to come back across the border, so while there might be queries over whether there's any petrol left in the tank, Sir Now was a sprinter who thrived when getting deep into a campaign last winter, recording a four-peat of wins.

The gelding has proven that he can handle a long preparation, and this sets up perfectly for the Darryl Hewitt-trained galloper, who looks the only logical leader in a small field and arrives off a really honest Caulfield performance in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes.

He wasn't able to lead there and did a bit of the donkey work when dragging the field up to Beast Mode, who dropped out to finish last, but he was still right there in the finish as clearly the pick of the on-speed brigade.

Sir Now had also recorded back-to-back wins in May and June before a narrow defeat two starts back on the Parks circuit when getting into an on-speed battle, with Omaha Dawn cashing in from the softer run and an 8kg weight advantage.

The four-year-old should take a power of catching here.

Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Invertational

The last-start failure on June 10 can be forgiven, where Invertational was well beaten on a testing Heavy 10 track, with both lameness and a slow recovery noted post-race, hence the freshen-up.

The Will Clarken-trained galloper broke a long winning drought earlier in the year before recording a second victory for 2026 three starts back on May 16.

She almost completed a double on June 6 when only picked up in the final stride by Lingani, who is rated well above anything in this field and has remained in terrific touch either side of that event.

Lingani was Group 3-placed over the Adelaide Carnival before finishing a narrow Listed runner-up at Flemington on July 4, making that June 6 form read particularly well.

Anything resembling that performance would see Invertational very hard to beat in this modest 0-70, and we're getting an each-way price with Tala Hutchinson taking 3kg off after her claim.

Happy 90th Pat Barns Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 5 No. 9 Glouf

The penny hasn't quite dropped for Glouf, although the Will Clarken-trained youngster clearly has his fair share of raw talent.

Now third-up over 1600m, it could all come together on Saturday, with the rise in distance looking ideal for the son of Shamus Award.

He resumed over a 900m dash at Murray Bridge on July 1, where he couldn't keep up early but motored home with the fastest closing sectionals of the program before stepping to 1250m on the Parks circuit and again rattling home from an impossible position.

Interestingly, he contests a Benchmark 72 despite still being a maiden, but the placement from this stable deserves respect, and it may simply be a case of building him up to this trip with a few shorter runs to put some dash in his legs.

Hopefully, Glouf can at least be neutral from a kinder draw this time around after being unable to hold a position in both winter outings, albeit they were over sprint distances.

Sportsbet Lightning Stakes Tips (Race 6)

Morphettville Feature Bets - Race 6 No. 6 Yuuki & No. 8 Stylish Sparkle

The Listed Lightning Stakes is always an interesting late-season affair for both two and three-year-olds and boasts a very tidy honour roll, with Group 1-winning sprinters Viddora and Nature Strip both progressing through this race over the past decade.

Cavalry Girl heads the market and is perhaps the safest selection with race fitness on her side and a nice drop in the weights, although she's no world-beater.

At longer odds, Yuuki and Stylish Sparkle appeal as the value runners, with Tim Fitzsimmons' Yuuki having put together back-to-back wins in autumn before running into a smart one at Swan Hill, where signs of colic were noted post-race.

She's been freshened up and looked sharp in a recent jump-out win, while Yuuki can push forward and give a sight on the speed.

At an even bigger quote is Stylish Sparkle, who impressed on debut before a flat effort prior to a break, with blinkers applied for this return, and while she's likely to furnish more next season, this filly does have some X-factor.
