Murray Bridge Value Bet - Race 1 No. 7 Rambling
The daughter of Zoustar has delivered some solid efforts in Victoria to date, including two fourths in two Victorian runs this prep.
The four-year-old returned from a spell of over five months with a defeat by just over three-and-a-half-lengths at Seymour in May.
Rambling raced on a sound surface that day and she was switched to the synthetic track at Pakenham for her next start the following month.
The mare delivered a fair effort when beaten just over three lengths stepped up to 1400m that day and the return to turf is expected to suit.
She has joined the Will Clarken stable since that Pakenham effort and Rambling delivered a decent effort when fifth in a Murray Bridge trial recently.
Kayla Crowther’s mount boasts a good barrier and her mount can breakthrough here.
Adelaide Hills Hotel Group Class One Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Murray Bridge Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Hypernova
David Jolly & Justin Potter’s representative has been performing well in stronger races this prep.
The gelding has registered top four finishes on each occasion, including when beaten just under three lengths over 1200m at Morphettville last time.
Hypernova raced over 1200m in a Class 2 handicap held on a Heavy 10 surface on that occasion.
The quicker going expected here is no issue, with the gelding’s other efforts this prep including a fourth on a Soft 5 and a third on a Good 4 surface.
He was freshened prior to his latest effort, having been beaten just under four lengths into fourth when contesting an 1100m Class 2 handicap at Morphettville.
The five-year-old has performed well in both previous starts in Class 1 company, while he has placed second in both outings over this distance.
Thomas Farms Benchmark 56 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Murray Bridge Next Best - Race 8 No. 1 Alainge
The five-year-old is the winner of half of her four starts this time around, with the most recent of those coming here on her penultimate start.
Alainge came home nearly three lengths clear of the runner-up when contesting a 1600m Benchmark 56 handicap held on a Soft 5 track that day.
Prior to that, the daughter of Sir Prancealot had delivered a victory over 1300m in a Benchmark 0-56 handicap at Mount Gambier twelve days earlier.
The step up to Benchmark 0-64 handicap company proved too much when finishing down the field in a metro contest over 1500m event at Morphettville.
The drop back in distance is no issue here, while coming back in grade is a big positive for Garret Lynch’s mare.
While she has to shoulder top weight here, Alainge has forecast underfoot conditions to suit and she looks capable of returning to winning ways.
