Morphettville Value Bet - Race 3 No. 8 Sea Roads
The youngster finished down the field when debuting in a 1000m Benchmark 66 handicap over 1000m at Murray Bridge in July.
The gelding resumed with a much improved effort in finishing runner-up stepped up to 1250m for a maiden at this venue in December.
The pick was beaten two-and-a-half-lengths when racing on a good 4 track that day with his jockey here Kayla Crowther in the saddle.
The three-year-old raced close to the speed on that occasion and had plenty of issues having overraced early and hung in the straight when disappointing at Strathalbyn last time.
While the selection could finish only seventh when beaten just under five lengths last time it is worth forgiving him that effort.
Phillip Stokes’ representative had recent Strathalbyn winner Iconic Jewel one place behind him last time and has a decent barrier in seven here.
The 1400m distance is unlikely to pose any issues with the son of Deep Field looking value to break through to record his first win.

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Pure Bliss
The four-year-old has been in good form this prep registering two wins from four starts including when winning first up on the main track here in October.
The filly came home nearly two lengths clear of her nearest pursuer when contesting a 1050m Class 2 handicap that day.
While the pick failed to shine when crossing the border at Moonee Valley the following month she returned to form with a third over this course and distance in December.
The daughter of Star Turn was beaten two-and-a-half-lengths into third when contesting a Benchmark 68 handicap that day and she trialled with an Oakbank win prior to her latest outing.
That latest outing saw her get home by a narrow margin when contesting an 1100m Class 2 handicap at Murray Bridge with all four starts this prep coming on a good 4 surface.
Jockey Rochelle Milnes, on board last time boasts an impressive 30% strike-rate (15/50) when riding for the Will Clarken & Niki O’Shea stable and she can improve on that with a win here.
Sportsbet Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Morphettville Roughie - Race 8 No. 9 Vallencourt
The daughter of Caravaggio won twice for her previous handler Mick Shepherdson with both of those victories coming at Geelong.
The five-year-old ended his time with Shepherdson finishing fourth, beaten just over two-and-a-half-lengths in a 1200m Benchmark 58 handicap in April last year.
The selection was spelled following that effort and was absent for over eight months before delivering a victory in a 1050m barrier trial at Oakbank in December.
The mare usually went from the front for her previous stable with a change of tactics seeing her ridden from behind the speed at Murray Bridge first up this prep.
The pick could finish only eighth when beaten over three-and-a-half-lengths in a Benchmark 70 handicap over an inadequate 1000m that day.
Ben Price’s mount is expected to have improved for that effort and with the extra distance in her favour she is taken to record her second success racing second up.
Thomas Farms Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 8 Fine Future
Trainer Stephen Theodore’s runners have been going well without winning in the last couple of weeks and his representative here is taken to deliver a victory for the team.
The Japanese-bred gelding won twice earlier this prep including by half-a-length in a 1050m Class 1 handicap on the main track here in December.
The selection has registered solid efforts in three of his subsequent four starts including twice under his ridder here, three-kilogram claiming apprentice Matthew Chadwick.
The four-year-old jumped from barrier nine when beaten just over a length into fourth when contesting a 1200m Benchmark 70 handicap here last weekend.
The son of Fine Needle did best of those to race from off the pace that day and he is expected appreciate the drop in grad he gets here.
Barrier three is a positive with regard to his chances and with forecast underfoot conditions in his favour he looks up to returning to winning ways.
