Kilmore Roughie - Race 2 No. 16 Queens Code
Two starts have produced some promise from Queens Code, with her better performance coming when resuming at Mornington on September 17.
Ridden with restraint after beginning slowly, the filly stayed on nicely to finish fifth over 1200m, beaten just over two-and-a-half lengths on a Good 4 surface.
That represented clear improvement on her only two-year-old appearance at Pakenham, where she finished ninth before being sent for a break.
Although both race-day starts have come on Good ground, the daughter of Exceed And Excel has previously handled rain-affected conditions in her preparatory work, while the inside draw is another positive.
Jett Stanley retains the ride for Charlotte Littlefield and, with natural improvement expected second-up, Queens Code looks capable of running a much bigger race at odds.

Kilmore Value Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Black Adam
Strong performances on rain-affected ground earlier this preparation make Black Adam an interesting value runner returning to softer conditions.
The Daniel McCarthy-trained gelding won over 1400m at Berrigan on August 22 before finishing runner-up by half a length in a BM58 over 1200m at Corowa nine days later.
Both performances came on Soft ground before he returned to Corowa on a Good surface and finished sixth over 1300m, beaten just under four lengths in a race that has since produced subsequent winners.
Freshened since that September 14 appearance, the drop back to 1207m should pose no problem and the move into BM56 company also works in his favour.
Sarah McDonough takes 2kg off from barrier two and, with Black Adam boasting three wins from 10 starts on Soft ground, the return to these conditions gives him a genuine chance at value.

Kilmore Best Bet - Race 5 No. 2 Give Some Lip
Give Some Lip produced several good performances in stronger company last preparation, including a third in BM70 company over 1600m on Pakenham’s synthetic track in June.
The son of Rubick was beaten only a length and a half on that occasion before ending the campaign with another placing at Ballarat Synthetic, where he finished third over 1500m.
While yet to win on rain-affected ground, the five-year-old has produced competitive performances on Soft going in the past and is now dropping back into much easier BM52 company.
Two trials have topped him off for his return, with the latest coming over 1000m at Caulfield Heath on October 1, and he should have taken useful fitness from both hit-outs.
Zac Spain gets the benefit of an inside draw and, having produced a good first-up effort over shorter when last seen at this level, Give Some Lip looks well placed to resume with a win.

Kilmore Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Switch Hit
Consistent form this preparation has Switch Hit knocking on the door, with three top-three finishes from four appearances and a particularly strong record around the mile.
The six-year-old was narrowly beaten over this course and distance on September 28, racing prominently before going down by just 0.1 lengths in a BM56 and finishing more than two lengths clear of the third.
That followed a runner-up finish on Soft ground at Bordertown, while his earlier campaign runs also showed he is comfortable on rain-affected going.
Barrier two gives John Allen every opportunity to reproduce the positive tactics used last time, and Switch Hit’s record at 1600m now stands at three wins and a second from five attempts.
Mitchell Freedman enjoyed Group success over the weekend and his representative arrives in excellent order, with the favourable draw and proven mile record giving Switch Hit every chance to record the fourth win of his career.
