The track is currently rated a Heavy 8; however, there's a chance of an upgrade or two before the meeting gets underway.

Ladbrokes Owners Promotion 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Geelong Roughie - Race 1 No. 10 Xtra Stylish
There was plenty to like about the debut effort of Xtra Stylish after a solid grounding through a series of jump-outs.
Racing over 1425m at this venue last month, the filly finished a promising fourth, beaten four lengths in a race where the first two drew well clear of the remainder.
She appeared to handle the testing conditions with ease that day, and another Heavy track is forecast on Friday.
The daughter of Xtravagant started at $31 on debut and is expected to have improved with that race experience under her belt.
Amy McDonald's stable has been in good form, with all three of her subsequent runners finishing in the first four, and while barrier nine isn't ideal, Damien Thornton retains the ride and the filly is capable of breaking through at the second attempt.

Geelong Value Bet - Race 3 No. 9 Thinker
Thinker demonstrated improvement with racing during her first preparation, producing her best effort when finishing third over 1525m at this venue in January.
Competing on a Good 4 surface, the filly was beaten just over a length after jumping from a wide barrier.
That performance has worked out well, with the fourth, eighth and 10th placegetters all winning subsequently.
Racing on the speed appeared to suit that day, and similar tactics are expected from barrier two.
Lindsey Smith's representative arrives off a jump-out win on the synthetic track here, while blinkers go on for the first time, and although the wet track is the unknown, her pedigree suggests she can handle the conditions and return with a win.

Geelong Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Furtherest Point
Furtherest Point has already proven himself at this venue, breaking through for his maiden victory over 2450m here in December.
Both starts this preparation have come on rain-affected ground after resuming with a seventh at Mornington.
The four-year-old then took a step forward with a fourth-place finish over 2025m at Cranbourne, where he was ridden patiently and finished just over three-and-a-half lengths from the winner.
That performance came at Benchmark 66 level, making the drop in grade a significant positive.
The Cranbourne form has already been franked, while Bailey Kinninmont's valuable 3kg claim and the rise in distance make Furtherest Point the one to beat.

Geelong Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 7 Licentious
Licentious rounded out her previous preparation with a strong third over 1600m at Seymour in February, beaten less than a length.
Following a pair of jump-outs, she resumed with a dominant victory at Bendigo last month.
Settling fifth throughout, the daughter of So You Think sprinted clear to score by more than three-and-a-half lengths over 1300m.
She shaped as though the extra distance would suit, while the wet ground also appeared to bring out her best.
Holly Durnan again claims 3kg, and despite the wide draw, Licentious looks capable of making it back-to-back victories.
