This well-bred four-year-old fetched NZD$200,000 at the Karaka Yearling Sale in 2023 and has continued to impress since joining Tony Gollan’s stable.
By Capitalist, she showed strong trial form prior to her debut, winning heats at Doomben and Deagon before finishing runner-up in two 1000m trials on wet ground.
Her first racetrack appearance came in a 1200m maiden at this venue in May, where she produced a smart turn of foot from off the pace to score by nearly two lengths on a Good 4 track.
The form from that event has stacked up nicely, with multiple subsequent winners among the beaten brigade.
Spelled after that victory and trialling well in preparation for her return, Balance The Books again teams up with Angela Jones and looks capable of maintaining her unbeaten record.

Doomben Roughie - Race 8 No. 5 Hell And Back
The five-year-old has a clear liking for rain-affected ground, boasting two wins and two placings from four starts on soft tracks.
His best performance came at Ipswich in January when taking out a 1200m Benchmark 58 handicap, and he has remained consistent since.
Three runs ago he scored over 1300m at Toowoomba before finishing down the track at Eagle Farm, then bounced back with a solid second at Gold Coast earlier this month.
That latest run came in a 1400m Class 3, and the form has held up well, with the fifth-placed horse winning at its next start.
Angela Jones sticks from a good draw, and while he’s up against a handy field, Hell And Back is one to keep safe at odds given his record on softer going.
