Ballarat Tips July 2

Brandt Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)

Ballarat Synthetic Roughie - Race 2 No. 4 Tasmanian Fox

Having shown ability in two Swan Hill maiden starts during his first preparation, Tasmanian Fox looks capable of making an encouraging return.

The better of those efforts came over 1300m on a Good track at the end of October when the gelding was beaten just under four-and-a-half lengths after racing from midfield.

Vincent Malady's representative should strip fitter following three jump-outs, including two at this venue where he has appeared comfortable on the synthetic surface.

His latest jump-out saw him finish second to Blazing Brook, who also lines up here, after breaking much more cleanly than he did at Swan Hill.

Despite drawing wide, another positive beginning could see the gelding settle within striking distance and register a surprise victory.

Porter Plant Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)

Ballarat Synthetic Value Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Rhineglow

A move onto the synthetic surface brought about Rhineglow's best performance to date when she raced at this circuit last month.

The daughter of Strasbourg was slowly away over 1000m before finishing fourth, beaten five lengths in a 10-runner maiden won by a clear margin.

She finished strongly along the inside that day after settling back, with the three runners who beat her all occupying prominent positions throughout.

Brent Stanley's filly has again drawn wide, making another patient ride under Teo Nugent the likely scenario.

The rise in distance looks a positive and she appeals as a genuine value chance if able to reproduce her latest effort.

Manhari BM62 Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Ballarat Synthetic Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Jaz Tycoon

An unbeaten record from two starts on the Ballarat synthetic makes Jaz Tycoon the one to beat in this Benchmark 62 contest.

His latest victory came over 2200m here last month when he settled back from a double-figure barrier before scoring by nearly two lengths at Benchmark 56 level.

The gelding has also shown the tactical versatility to race much closer to the speed and the drop back to this distance is no concern.

An inside draw gives Cian Macredmond every opportunity to secure a favourable run aboard Melody Cunningham's consistent galloper.

Despite carrying top weight, he looks well placed to maintain his perfect record on the synthetic surface.

Sportsbet Fast Form BM70 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Ballarat Synthetic Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Jennyanydots

After competing in stronger company throughout this preparation, Jennyanydots finds a more suitable assignment at country Benchmark 70 level.

The mare won a metro Benchmark 70 over this distance at Caulfield Heath in March before being beaten less than three lengths in three of her next four starts.

Her only unplaced effort came at Listed level at Oakbank, and she arrives off a solid fourth at Caulfield Heath just over two weeks ago.

Mitchell Freedman's mare finished strongly after a slow start last time out and again looks suited by the expected race shape.

While unproven on the Ballarat synthetic, her class edge and the booking of Jye McNeil make her the clear next best selection.
