Straight up, I like Ecuador to progress to the R16 as outsiders here.
They are one of the toughest defensive teams in the world, led by PSG's Willian Pacho and Arsenal's Piero Hincapie at the back and shielded by Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo. La Tri only conceded five goals during World Cup qualifying in South America, keeping a clean sheet in 14 of 18 games.

They've not been challenged in the slightest and this Mexican team is a far cry from the sides that have made a couple of quarter-finals and countless R16 previous appearances at the World Cup.
So I'm backing another low-scoring Ecuadorian masterclass, with some extra value on La Tri to prevail on penalties. Nilson Angulo looks the most likely for an anytime goalscorer, but go light and I wouldn't be surprised with a 0-0 stalemate after 90 minutes.
