The Melbourne Stars took their second straight win of the season with a 5 wicket victory over cross-town rivals the Renegades hitting the target with 2 balls to spare at the MCG on Saturday.
The Stars were set a reachable total of 169 by the Renegades who were sent in to bat first with the middle order picking up some momentum. Veteran Peter Siddle was the man to break the partnerships picking up 2 wickets and a run out through his 4 overs for 9 runs a pop. Joel Paris also took 2 for a stingy 5.75 economy rate.
Ben Duckett was once again amazing with the bat in hand hitting 67 off 49 balls and now sits 5th in the Runs Total for the BBL14 season with 202 runs from 5 games. Marcus Stoinis also put up 48 with Tom Rogers, Sam Harper and Dan Lawrence all leaving as quick as they came for a total of 4 runs between them.
Glenn Maxwell and Hilton Cartwright saw the team home both reaching unbeaten 20+ scores to take the win.

It will be over a week since the Sydney Sixers last played a match with their most recent clash against the Brisbane Heat being abandoned because of rain without a ball being bowled.
Prior to the rained out game the Sixers took on the Hobart Hurricanes in Hobart losing the game by 50 runs. One of the biggest losses for Sydney för a number of years. The Sixers won the toss and sent their opponents into bat but failed to build momentum with the ball.
