Norway face England in a highly anticipated World Cup quarter-final at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, showcasing two of the world's top strikers: Erling Haaland and Harry Kane. Norway arrive with impressive form, having knocked out Brazil and continuing their historic run, while England scraped through tough matches against DR Congo and Mexico, relying on standouts Kane and Bellingham. Both teams are expected to score, with Kane and Haaland likely to find the net. The key tip: expect a draw in regular time, with England backed to progress via penalties due to their greater experience.

Norway vs England World Cup Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

It's a mouth-watering World Cup quarter-final showdown as England and Norway collide at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday.

It doesn't get much bigger than this, with two of the world's most lethal strikers squaring off as Harry Kane and Erling Haaland both look to continue their red-hot form and propel their respective nations into the World Cup semi-finals - and potentially a date with reigning champions Argentina, who look there for the taking.

First of all, credit to England, that 3-2 win over Mexico was a brave performance, where they overcame altitude, the Azteca and 10 men, with Jude Bellingham producing a stunning individual display as he became the first English midfielder to score 4+ goals at a single World Cup.

However, in my opinion, it wasn't one of England's greatest all-time displays - far from it - which I've seen a lot of journalists and pundits declare. At the end of the day, these are professional athletes, so 90 minutes of altitude with multiple hydrations breaks isn't a big deal. And half of that Mexican squad play in the local league - honestly, it might have been the worst Mexico side we've ever seen at a World Cup. And the Three Lions only just managed to scrape through with 34 per cent of possession - their lowest ever in a World Cup game.

After barely overcoming DR Congo in the previous round, England look like they need considerable improvement to move past Norway, let alone win this tournament.

Norway are into their first ever major tournament quarter-final and they did so in impressive fashion, outplaying five-time World Cup champions Brazil, with star man Haaland scoring another brace. Born in Yorkshire and plying his trade in Manchester, Haaland - who will come up against his Man City teammates in defence - will be determined to make another big impact here.

I give Norway a real chance, but their defence does concern me. But I'm also not really rating what I've seen from England so far if we take the emotion of the Azteca occasion out of the equation. But Bellingham is genuinely world class and Kane continues to bang in the goals.

My best bet for this game is both teams to score, with Kane and Haaland both finding the back of the net. I'll have a smaller stake on the match going to penalties, where England's experience might just prove the difference.
  • Norway have seen BTTS land in 11 of their last 12 games
  • England have seen BTTS land in their last two games
  • Norway have won 16 of their last 21 games
  • England have won six of their last seven games
  • Norway have scored 12 goals this World Cup, England have scored 11
  • Erling Haaland has scored seven goals at this World Cup & has scored 2+ in seven of his last eight World Cup games (including qualifiers)
  • Haaland has scored 1+ goal in his last 14 internationals, with 27 in total
  • Kane has scored six goals at this World Cup & scored 1+ goal in his last four World Cup knockout stage games

Norway vs England Head To Head

This will be the first meeting between the teams since 2014, with England winning seven and drawing three of the last 12, keeping a clean sheet in the last five straight.

Norway Form Analysis

Norway crushed everything in their path during qualifying and they've continued their red-hot form in their first World Cup appearance since 1998, advancing to the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

Stale Solbakken's side registered wins over Senegal and Iraq in the group stage, but surrendered top spot to France by fielding a second-string side.

That decision didn't prove costly, with Norway defeating Ivory Coast 2-1 in the R32 before a memorable 2-1 triumph over Brazil, completely outplaying the South American heavyweights.

Haaland was once again the star of the show, leaping for a fantastic header before drilling a powerful left-footed strike from outside the box to sink the Brazilians.

However, a late penalty means Norway are yet to keep a clean sheet at this World Cup, while they've also never defeated a European side in this competition.

Norway Team News

The Norway game plan remains simple - get Haaland good service and let the big man do the rest.

Antonio Nusa has impressed at this World Cup and the rising Leipzig winger will once again look to utilise his pace down the flank.

Oscar Bobb and Andreas Schjelderup are both pressing their claim for a start, but Alexander Sorlath will probably retain his place.

Left back David Moller Wolfe should be fit to start after coming off early against Brazil.

England Form Analysis

I wouldn't say it's been a particularly impressive World Cup from England, but they've got the job done and landed on the favourable side of the knockout bracket, avoiding favourites France and Spain until the final.

England's best performance in my eyes was against Croatia in their opener, where they came away with a 4-2 victory before a disappointing 0-0 stalemate with Ghana and lacklustre 2-0 dispatch of Panama.

Thomas Tuchel's side were forced to come from behind with late goals from Kane to edge out an inspired DR Congo side before their ambush of Mexico at the Azteca in the R16.

In what was one of the most entertaining games of the World Cup, England went ahead 2-0 following a brilliant brace from Bellingham inside two minutes before Mexico pegged a goal back just before half-time.

A red card to Jarell Quansah early in the second-half put England on the back foot, but Kane stepped up from the penalty spot and the Three Lions ultimately held on bravely for a 3-2 victory, aided by some superb defensive work from substitute Dan Burn.

England Team News

England are into their 11th World Cup quarter-final and Tuchel will be forced into at least one change, with Quansah suspended.

Djed Spence should slot straight back into the side after regaining fitness, but John Stones and Ezri Konsa could also shift over.

Marc Guehi and Nico O'Reilly will be tasked with handing City teammate Haaland, while Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson anchor the midfield.

Bellingham will operate behind Kane, with Gordon and Saka providing the pace and flair out wide.

Should be a cracking contest - I'm backing both teams to score, with star strikers Kane & Haaland finding the back of the net again. England on pens is the value bet.
