Cruz Hewitt vs Sebastian Gorzny ATP Winston-Salem Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Cruz Hewitt has an excellent opportunity to claim a second ATP main draw win this North American hardcourt summer and he's tipped to seize this moment against World No. 782 lucky loser Sebastian Gorzny on Monday in Winston-Salem.
Hewitt has taken advantage of a bit of luck this summer and the 17-year-old has another great chance to keep improving his ranking.
The Aussie teenager - son of former No. 1 and two-time major champion Lleyton - received a wildcard into Washington qualifying earlier this month before his two opponents retired, while here in Winston-Salem, his scheduled opponent Dino Prizmic withdrew after the draw was made, meaning Gorzny was awarded a lucky loser entrant.
Gorzny has only played a handful of pro events each year since debuting in 2022 and the 22-year-old hasn't really shown much in terms of ever becoming a regular top player. In fact, he's currently at his career-high ranking of No. 782.
Hewitt meanwhile is at No. 376 while being five years Gorzny's junior - he's clearly the far superior talent.
If Hewitt can keep his composure mentally on another big occasion, then he has the big serve and firepower with his groundies to secure a second ATP main draw win. The 17-year-old is still prone to the odd concentration lapse, so there's value in this match going three.

- Current Ranking: No. 376
- Career-High Ranking: No. 370 (August 2026)
Hewitt has been building nicely on the ITF and Challenger circuit over the last couple of years, while he also finished runner-up at Junior Wimbledon a few months ago.
Now, the 17-year-old is looking to further test himself on the ATP Tour after receiving a wildcard into the 250 Winston-Salem tournament this week.
Hewitt demonstrated he could hang with the big boys at the 500 event in Washington earlier this month, coming through qualifying over Dusan Lajovic and Zachary Svajda before registering his first tour-level win over Marcos Giron, defeating the World No. 85 6-3 6-4. The Aussie was then beaten in straight sets by top 10 compatriot Alex de Minaur.
The promising teenager has played one tournament since, going down in the quarter-finals of the 25k Southaven Futures tournament in three sets to No. 202 Clement Chidekh, 4-6 6-2 6-3.
Sebastian Gorzny Form Analysis
- 2026 ATP Record: 0-0
- ATP Winston-Salem Record: 0-0
- Current Ranking: No. 782
- Career-High Ranking: No. 782 (August 2026)
Gorzny will be making his ATP main draw debut in this match after gaining a lucky loser entry into the main draw following Prizmic's withdrawal.
The 22-year-old beat another Australian in doubles specialist Marc Polmans in his first round of qualifying, but lost in three sets to No. 254 Felix Balshaw in the final round.
The American hasn't really made much of an impact since playing his first pro events from 2022, but he's certainly in career-best form at the moment, beating No. 163 Borna Gojo on his way to a first Challenger quarter-final in Lexington a couple of weeks ago.
However, Gorzny couldn't back it up and lost in the first round to No. 994 Axel Nefve in a 25k Futures event in East Lansing before arriving in Winston-Salem.
