Round 17 of the 2026 AFL season features several massive selection calls, with Geelong regaining Bailey Smith and Tom Stewart for its blockbuster clash against Brisbane, while Sydney has been forced into six changes after its heavy loss to the Lions.

Thursday, July 2, 7:30pm at GMHBA Stadium

Geelong: The Cats regain Bailey Smith (illness) and Tom Stewart (concussion) for a huge Thursday night clash. Jack Bowes and George Stevens make way, while Gryan Miers remains an emergency as he continues to manage an ACL issue.

Brisbane: The Lions are unchanged after dismantling Sydney last week. Dayne Zorko, Hugh McCluggage and Tom Doedee remain unavailable through injury.
