Rainfall: Nil in the last 24 hours and 8mm in the last seven days at the time of the official track walk.

Rail position and why: +8m entire, moving to the best available ground.

Last time we raced there: Saturday, August 15, 2026.

How it played last time: Three winners settled forward, four settled midfield and two settled towards the rear.

Verdict: The track currently sits in the soft range and should hold in the soft range for Saturday.

The forecast is for overcast weather with a slight chance of a shower over the next 48 hours.

The track has a good cover of grass for this time of year; however, there is some marking across the whole track.

The track was rated a Soft 7 at the time of the update (now a Soft 6) after just over 25mm of rain for the week, with the last of that being 4mm on Tuesday night.

The rail has been moved back to the True position after being at four metres for the Missile Stakes meeting. Randwick has not raced with the rail True since May 23, allowing the club to utilise the full width of the track through winter.

There was a small chance of a shower on Wednesday morning, with clearer conditions to follow and temperatures around 20 degrees on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Light southeast winds are expected on Saturday, running across the horses' right shoulder in the straight while potentially providing some assistance in the side straight and chute.

Sandown Hillside was rated a Heavy 9 following Friday afternoon's inspection, with the track upgraded due to favourable drying conditions.
