Randwick hosts a quality ten-race program on Saturday headlined by the Group 1 Randwick Guineas, where a talented crop of three-year-olds clash over the mile in one of the key autumn targets for the division.

The Group 1 Canterbury Stakes adds further weight-for-age intrigue to the card, while the Challenge Stakes, Reisling Stakes and Todman Stakes headline a strong supporting program featuring several high-class sprinters and promising two-year-olds with autumn ambitions.

Our preview for all ten races is included below, while for the latest insights and coverage from around the country and internationally, visit our Live Racing & Sports Updates hub.

Randwick Tips March 7

Race 1 - 12:30PM Midway Handicap Tips (1600m)

8. Kilbrannan fits the progressive three-year-old profile that often works well in Midways, which was the case last week with Bryant who saluted, and he also produced a strong effort when charging home for fourth in the February 21 Midway at Rosehill.

The query is his lack of tactical speed, but a switch to the bigger Randwick track should suit and stepping up to the mile now looks ideal.

4. Iceman is building towards a win after catching the eye fresh when ridden colder from a wide gate before fitness just gave out late when third last start as a beaten favourite.

9. Dollars has upside and got a kill out of the way last time at Taree after failing when heavily backed fresh. Could get over even further, but still a leading chance.

3. Zenmaster bounced back to winning form when taking out the February 7 Midway over this track-and-trip, and keeping him around the mile range appears the key.

Selections: 8-4-9-3.

Race 2 - 1:05PM Randwick City Stakes Tips (2000m)

12. Juja Kibo looks more progressive than most of these, although it's an open race and the early market reflects that.

He worked through the grades over a long second campaign, culminating with a Group 1 third in The Metropolitan, while he ran the race’s fastest last 200m when resuming over a mile and has since ticked over nicely in a recent trial. 2000m suits and he carries 3.5kg less from that fresh attempt.

7. Piggyback was set a huge task fresh and caught the eye late without threatening before capitalising a fortnight ago when winning the Parramatta Cup. No reason why she can't go on with it.

9. Star Of India could spot them a start but produced an improved showing in that Parramatta Cup when doing his best work late and looks the pick of the outsiders.

4. Travolta appeared to have every chance in that same race but may have just needed the run second-up, and James McDonald sticks.

Selections: 12-7-9-4.

Race 3 - 1:40PM Petaluma Reisling Stakes Tips (1200m)

12. Rachini was green on debut in the Debutante Stakes at Caulfield in October, but there was enough to like in that 1000m appearance along with her earlier jump-out work, with the daughter of Zoustar now under the care of Bjorn Baker.

She arrives for her first Sydney assignment off two strong Rosehill trial wins and, with natural improvement from that initial preparation in what does not look a standout field, she is among the main hopes.

14. Miss Trump is the only first starter in the field and commands respect for Paul Snowden despite a bolter’s quote. The country trial around older rivals was encouraging.

1. Agrarian Girl heads the market and was a big price when saluting on debut, although that form has been franked with runner-up Spicy Miss winning the Group 2 Sweet Embrace last Saturday.

8. Naadra is still putting things together but has talent, having been heavily backed in a narrow debut loss. Open to natural improvement here.

Selections: 12-14-1-8.

Race 4 - 2:15PM Darley Todman Stakes Tips (1200m)

1. Stretan Ruler could hold a key to the Golden Slipper picture alongside the Melbourne youngsters after absolutely bolting in when winning the Silver Slipper.

He arrived there off an even run in the Blue Diamond Prelude, but blinkers sharpened him considerably last start where he put a space on them under an in-form Chad Schofield, while the prior debut form through the Merson Cooper also reads well.

4. Paradoxium is the early market elect after taking out the Wyong Magic Millions on December 10 before a spell, and while the form from that race has not really stood up, he has bolted in with a recent trial.

8. Wolf Gap showed a nice turn-of-foot from off the speed when beating Naadra on debut, and we will get a lead to that form through the Reisling Stakes.

2. Hidrix was an impressive debut winner and blinkers go on following the Silver Slipper loss to Stretan Ruler. May struggle to turn the tables, but the extra 100m suits and he could be working towards the Sires’.

Selections: 1-4-8-2.

Race 5 - 2:50PM All Occasion Cruises Fireball Stakes Tips (1100m)

4. Inkaruna was a winner early last year and remained competitive in subsequent appearances without winning before gaining a confidence booster when rounding out her spring campaign with a comfortable Group 3 victory at Caulfield.

My Gladiola was among the beaten brigade in that race and she has been Group 1 placed either side of it, while blinkers come off for Saturday’s return and her Victorian jump-out work has been solid.

3. Beadman won his first summer trial before being given a solid workout in a good heat here on February 19. Prepared by Peter Snowden, a stable that was flying in February with 15 winners at 32% last month.

6. Caffe Florian kept stepping up in his first preparation with a winning hat-trick at starts two, three and four, including a Listed triumph in the Gosford Guineas, and we still do not know what his ceiling is.

8. Cantiamo could be the blowout after coming up early in the season but failing to fire with a shorter break heading into November, although her February trial work has been encouraging.

Selections: 4-3-6-8.

Race 6 - 3:25PM Asahi Super Dry Aspiration Quality Tips (1600m)

2. Pinito looks in for a good campaign after resuming off a Queensland Oaks second with a huge run in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes on February 21.

She came from the back with the second-fastest last 600m of the entire meeting and was exactly where you did not want to be on that card out in the wider lanes, while the rise from 1300m to 1600m now looks a logical progression while staying against her own sex.

3. Movin Out landed the cash for us first-up at a huge price in a race she arguably should have won by further, and that confidence booster combined with 2.5kg less this time keeps her right in the mix.

1. Quietness has been a frustrating horse for connections, the import competitive throughout her first couple of Australian preparations but one who has thrown away a few races.

5. Unleeshing is a surprising favourite but an improving mare and she has built a solid base of residual fitness through her summer runs. Poorly weighted for a Group 3 coming off a BM78 win with 54kg.

Selections: 2-3-1-5.

Race 7 - 4:00PM Schweppes Challenge Stakes Tips (1000m)

1. Giga Kick makes this a tricky race to assess as 1000m may now be short of his best, but the six-year-old remains the starting point on class under WFA conditions.

He rediscovered his winning touch in the spring winning both starts including the Group 1 Champions Sprint, and there were excuses in the Black Caviar Lightning return where he was ridden a little upside down and fitness gave out late. Any sting out of the track would help.

8. Raging Force could be the best suited here fresh at 1000m, a speedster with a low draw who can be placed prominently by Tommy Berry. Trial work has been slick and he could be en route towards The Galaxy.

3. Skybird is a fascinating runner who has had her share of issues but whose ability when right is not in doubt, as seen fresh in last year’s Black Caviar Lightning and when luckless first-up in the Moir Stakes last prep.

6. Generosity had good form lines early in his first preparation for Chris Waller, unlucky in the first of those before placing behind Joliestar and Briasa in The Shorts.

Selections: 1-8-3-6.

Race 8 - 4:35PM The Agency Randwick Guineas Tips (1600m)

9. Sheza Alibi is looking to become the first filly since Mosheen in 2012 to win the Randwick Guineas after resuming with a soft Caulfield victory where she won as a $1.50 favourite should.

She improved as the distances increased throughout her Victorian spring campaign, culminating with a dominant Sandown Guineas win over this trip, and she has been aimed at this race rather than the Coolmore Classic. She has the best turn-of-foot in this field.

1. Autumn Boy defeated Planet Red and Observer when winning the Caulfield Guineas before a break and that form has continued to stack up. His Hobartville Stakes return was strong with this in mind and he should relish getting to Randwick.

2. Attica was another eye-catcher in the Hobartville Stakes although he may have been flattered by finding the best ground, while his class was evident through a first campaign highlighted by the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes.

6. Providence could represent value for exotics, the Chris Waller-trained colt getting a confidence boost at Wyong before a sound recent trial, while his earlier form includes a strong second to Observer in the Moonee Valley Vase.

Selections: 9-1-2-6.

Race 9 - 5:15PM Super Seth @ Coolmore Canterbury Stakes Tips (1300m)

3. Linebacker saluted at this meeting last year in the Randwick Guineas before an unlucky run in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile.

His spring campaign was short but highlighted by a big Silver Eagle win over this track and trip which followed a luckless Tramway Stakes resumption, and his trials have been sharp enough while we are getting an each-way price in a competitive race.

7. Lady Shenandoah was unbeaten throughout her three-year-old season before things went wrong early in her four-year-old campaign which began with a luckless second in the Concorde Stakes.

6. Joliestar won the Expressway Stakes and while a slight regression would not surprise second-up, she deserves favouritism with recent winning form. A drying surface would help.

4. Yorkshire is on a Doncaster path after qualifying with victory in The Ingham. Very genuine with eight wins and two placings from 11 starts, with excuses in the sole miss.

Selections: 3-7-6-4.

Race 10 - 5:55PM Kia Ora Wenona Girl Quality Tips (1200m)

10. Lady Extreme could run a race here at big odds second-up after producing a slashing return on February 7 where 1000m looked a little sharp but she was hard to miss late with the fastest closing sectionals of the meeting.

Whether she has the class of some higher-rated rivals is the query, but she is down in the weights, looks suited rising to 1200m and may have been aimed at this as a black-type opportunity.

2. Gangsta Granny looks the obvious on-top selection, with her early-season fresh run behind Autumn Glow strong form. She rebounded with a Group 3 win on October 11 after a luckless second-up outing.

1. Abounding is a Brisbane visitor who has bolted in with two Doomben trials in February and the experienced traveller brings solid form references from her last Melbourne campaign.

3. Idle Flyer may improve off this and could be looking for further later in the preparation but she is classy and cannot be dismissed.

Selections: 10-2-1-3.
