Murray Bridge Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 2 Vaniteux

The four-year-old has been in good form in recent months, registering wins in two of her last three starts.

All three of those appearances have come at Strathalbyn, including when breaking through for her first victory over 1350m on Christmas Eve.

The mare then finished a close second in a Class 2 handicap over the same course and distance after jumping from barrier eight on a Good 4 surface.

She was freshened after racing prominently that day before being ridden with more restraint and saluting by over a length in a similar event last month.

The change of tactics appeared to suit last time, and with the fifth home since winning at Port Lincoln, Dion and Raygan Koch’s mare can complete the double.

Magic Millions SA 2yo Classic Tips (Race 5)

Murray Bridge Feature Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Rich On Bubbles

The son of Capitalist won a jumpout prior to making his debut in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes down the Flemington straight in October.

Racing over 1000m, the gelding began awkwardly and was never involved, finishing last of ten in the first two-year-old race of the Melbourne season.

He was subsequently spelled and returned with two encouraging jumpout wins ahead of his return to racing at Pakenham last month.

Facing six rivals over 1000m, the gelding prevailed narrowly, with both the second and third going on to perform well in metropolitan company.

Drawn well in barrier six and racing in a tongue tie for the first time, the Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained juvenile looks well placed to deliver.

Magic Millions SA 3 & 4yo Classic Tips (Race 8)

Tom Dabernig’s representative showed good form at a higher level last season when placing in Group 3 company at Caulfield.

All seven of the mare’s subsequent runs have come at that venue, including a win by just under half-a-length in a Benchmark 78 handicap in September.

Racing over 1400m on good ground that day, the daughter of Pride Of Dubai recorded the third victory of her career.

She followed that effort with a solid second over 1440m in a Benchmark 70 contest, beaten just under four-and-a-half lengths.

The four-year-old has since trialled well ahead of her return, including a 900m jumpout win in soft conditions at Ballarat, and she looks capable of resuming with a victory.

Spry Civil Construction Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Murray Bridge Value Bet - Race 9 No. 3 Zanthron

The gelding recorded two second-place finishes from four starts last preparation, including on his return at Gawler in early July.

Racing on a wet surface that day, he was beaten less than half a length in an 1100m Benchmark 74 handicap.

The five-year-old backed that up with another runner-up finish three weeks later in an Open handicap over 1050m at Morphettville.

While no match for Lingani that day, he stayed on strongly in testing conditions to claim second on a Heavy 9 surface.

Dropping back to 1100m and returning to a venue where he has twice placed previously, the son of Thronum looks value to score.
