Eagle Farm Tips March 7

Redcliffe Treehouse Benchmark 75 Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 5 First Mission

Kelly Schweida’s representative has a good record fresh, having won both first-up starts since debuting with a second at Wyong in November 2024.

The latest of those first-up triumphs saw him come home over a length clear of his seven rivals in a Benchmark 70 handicap at Doomben in October when racing over 1200m on a sound surface.

The gelding went on to place in the top three in both subsequent starts, including a second-place finish when beaten just under half-a-length in a similar event over 1200m here in November.

The son of Snitzel then confirmed he handles wet conditions when placing third again at Benchmark 70 level back at Doomben at the end of that month.

The four-year-old was spelled following that effort and, while barrier ten isn’t ideal, he showed up well when finishing second in a recent trial, with Michael Rodd again set to ride.

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 4 No. 9 Ariat

The daughter of Kobayashi has won twice already in 2026, including over 1400m in a Benchmark 65 event at Gatton in January.

Racing over that trip, the mare came home more than one-and-a-half lengths clear on a sound surface after jumping from barrier eight.

She then completed the double when overcoming a double-figure alley to score at this venue next time in another Benchmark 65 contest over the same distance.

While the six-year-old failed to shine over 1350m at Doomben subsequently, she lost ground in the closing stages and ran better than the bare result suggests.

The selection has been freshened since that effort and, while yet to race on a wet track this preparation, she has won on soft going previously, with Olivia Webb again taking the ride.

XXXX Class 3 Plate Tips (Race 5)

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 5 No. 10 Tenbury Wells

The four-year-old has been running well without winning this preparation, finishing fourth in three of his five starts since placing second at Newcastle first-up.

The most recent of those efforts saw the gelding beaten just under two-and-a-half lengths over 1600m at Randwick in January.

Contesting a Benchmark 72 handicap that day, the pick kept on nicely after having to shift away from the rail when meeting trouble in the straight.

He then finished down the field when again ridden with restraint in a similar contest held over the same course and distance.

The selection has since joined the Chris and Corey Munce stable from Brad Widdup and, with blinkers replaced by a visor, Angela Jones’ mount may surprise.

Roku Gin Fillies and Mares Class 6 Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Gospel Girl

Trained by Tony Gollan, Gospel Girl has shown a liking for wet surfaces in the past, registering three victories on soft ground.

The most recent of those successes came over this course and distance when winning a Benchmark 78 contest here in August.

She had just one more start after that, finishing down the field at the Gold Coast before being spelled.

The five-year-old resumed with a close second in another Benchmark 78 event over this track and trip at the end of January.

Drawn well in barrier six, Emily Lang’s mount is expected to settle closer to the pace and looks capable of defying top weight.
