Ipswich Value Bet - Race 2 No. 9 Ormond Road
While the five-year-old has managed just one top three finish to date, Ormond Road generally runs his race and he has shown good form in defeat on wet tracks this prep.
Those wet track efforts include a fourth when beaten just over four lengths in a 1700m maiden at this venue two starts back.
The gelding jumped from a double figure barrier on that occasion and he arrives here on the back of a fifth-of-seven over 1800m at Eagle Farm six days later.
The son of Last Typhoon was beaten just over one-and-a-half-lengths when racing on a Soft 5 surface at Eagle Farm and similar underfoot conditions are expected for this race.
Jamie Bayliss’ representative boasts an inside alley here, while the extra distance he gets shouldn’t be an issue, having placed third over 2070m at Doomben in June.
Jake Bayliss knows the gelding well, having been aboard for six of his eight starts this prep and his mount looks value to break his maiden here.

Ipswich Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Destinys Summit
The son of Gold Standard has been going well in recent months, winning all three starts since placing second in a maiden here in early June.
Destinys Summit went on to brea through for his first win when contesting a 1010m contest held on a Heavy 9 track at Murwillumbah later that month.
The gelding got home by a narrow margin that day and he went on to salute when ridden from mid-division in a 1200m open handicap at Beaudesert a month ago.
Hehad a wide barrier to contend with that day, but it proved no issue with the youngster finishing nearly a length clear of his rivals.
Brian Gentle’s gelding went on to prove that he can be competitive in metro contests when saluting by just over half-a-length in a 1110m handicap at Doomben last time.
Jumping at odds of $26, Destinys Summit finished strongly that day and he is expected to appreciate the step up in distance he gets here.

Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Machine Head
Rex Lipp’s gelding has recorded a couple of good efforts at this venue in the last month, including when saluting over 1200m here via his penultimate start.
Machine Head raced at benchmark 0-58 handicap level when coming home nearly two lengths clear of his rivals on a Soft 5 surface that day.
The five-year-old made all the running on that occasion and similar tactics are expected jumping from next to the rail here.
He went on to lose out by half-a-length when racing in a Benchmark 65 handicap over this course and distance at the end of last month.
The son of Lean Mean Machine pressed the lead early and led with 600m to run prior to being run down late on.
Connections have opted to apply a cross-over noseband for the first time here and an in-form Ben Thompson’s takes the reins.

Ipswich Roughie - Race 7 No. 10 Jungle Law
The mare showed good form on wet tracks in two starts last prep, including when resuming with a win over 1006m at Grafton in early February.
The daughter of Jungle Cat came home one-and-a-half-lengths clear of her rivals when contesting a Class 1 handicap held on a Soft 5 surface that day.
Jungle Law recorded a comfortable success that day and while she could finish only sixth at Eagle Farm subsequently, she was beaten less than one-and-a-half-lengths.
That Eagle Farm effort marked the mares first non-top three finish over the 1200m distance she tackles here.
She trialled well, with a win and a second ahead of her return to action at Eagle Farm last month, however, Jungle Law could finish only sixth in an eight runner event that day.
The return to a wet track is a positive here and she may prove up to surprising second-up.
