Pioneer Services Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)
Hawkesbury Roughie - Race 4 No. 5 Kiss Of Gold
The Peltzer filly made a solid start to her career when finishing fourth at Canberra at the end of December.
Racing over 1000m on a Good track, she was beaten four lengths in an eight-runner maiden.
Kiss Of Gold was then sent for a spell and, despite showing little in two lead-up trials, produced a much-improved effort when resuming at Newcastle.
Dropped to 900m on a Soft 6 surface, the three-year-old settled behind the leaders before finishing second.
That form has received a boost, with the winner scoring again since, while the fifth and sixth placegetters have both gone on to finish runner-up in maiden company, and further improvement is expected at just her third career start.
HRC Motel Benchmark 64 Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Hawkesbury Value Bet - Race 5 No. 7 Costabit
Costabit has already shown an affinity for wet ground, with his lone victory coming on a Heavy track at Kembla Grange in May last year.
The gelding produced his best effort of the current preparation when finishing sixth over 1500m at Kembla Grange last month.
He was beaten less than two lengths despite encountering traffic issues in a Benchmark 64 event.
The three-year-old then stepped to metropolitan grade at Rosehill, where he contested a valuable Benchmark 72 over the same trip.
This represents a much easier assignment, and with a favourable draw and the blinkers removed, Costabit looks capable of returning to winning form.

Hawkesbury Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Abandonment
Abandonment produced several strong performances on wet tracks in New Zealand before making the move to Australia.
Among those efforts was a Heavy-track victory at Woodville on just his third career start.
The gelding subsequently recorded two more top-three finishes before joining the Bjorn Baker stable.
He resumed earlier this month at Class 1 level and performed well on a Soft 6 track, racing prominently before finishing third, beaten less than two lengths.
The extra distance looks suitable second-up and, with Tommy Berry aboard a horse who has shown tactical versatility, Abandonment appears well placed to add a second career victory.
