A number of lightly raced gallopers appear capable of taking the next step, while proven metro performers add depth to a competitive midweek card.

Caulfield Heath Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Baltic Blizzard
Declan Bates has been in good form throughout June, with eight winners and five placegetters from 36 rides this month, and he stays aboard Baltic Blizzard.
The daughter of Hanseatic justified an odds-on quote when resuming at Ballarat last month, recording a slick three-and-a-half-length victory.
She was unable to break through in two December appearances, although she showed good talent when finishing runner-up on both occasions.
Multiple winners have since emerged from those races and, if the latest resumption is any indication, the three-year-old has taken improvement into this second campaign.
Having arrived at Ballarat off an Ararat jump-out win in the second of her autumn hit-outs, Baltic Blizzard remains against her own age and sex here and looks capable of taking the step up to metropolitan level.

Caulfield Heath Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Beach Pad
Although racing consistently, market elect Oak Beach had her chance when beaten three lengths at Mornington on June 8.
There could be more upside with Beach Pad, who built on a solid return at Warrnambool to record a soft second-up victory in this grade during the Swan Hill Carnival.
Jackson Radley retains the ride and, after his 2kg claim, the gelding remains at 60.5kg for Wednesday's assignment.
The rise to 1800m is another positive, with Beach Pad having already proven himself over longer journeys and appearing back on track after a lone summer flop.
Beach Pad handles all conditions, getting through a Heavy 8 fresh before saluting on a Soft 6 last time out, and looks well placed again.

Caulfield Heath Favourite - Race 6 No. 8 Tennessee Bound
Resuming for the Ciaron Maher stable is the unbeaten Tennessee Bound, who has worked nicely in two June jump-out's ahead of Wednesday's return.
The latest of those hit-outs came on the Caulfield Heath circuit on June 11.
She completed a hat-trick when successful in a Benchmark 66 on this track on November 19, with that race producing four subsequent winners.
The main query is resuming over five furlongs, given her last two victories both came over 1200m.
However, she proved sharp enough when winning on debut over 1103m at Kyneton and has the tactical speed to hold a prominent position from barrier three, while Jabez Johnstone's 3kg claim is another positive for a mare who looks destined for bigger things over winter.

Caulfield Heath Value Bet - Race 7 No. 12 Faraway Dream
The final run of her first preparation is best forgiven, with Faraway Dream appearing to be looking for the paddock when contesting a Saturday metropolitan three-year-old event at Geelong on January 3.
The daughter of Farnan raced keenly before dropping out, although she arrived there off back-to-back victories.
The first of those was a dominant debut success at Ballarat before she took out a Benchmark 64 at Cranbourne on December 12.
That Cranbourne win came over La Astro Chat, who subsequently won his next two starts, the latter of those victories coming via Saturday metropolitan affair at Caulfield.
Faraway Dream has been prepared with Cranbourne jump-out's and did her best work late in the most recent on May 4, while there remains upside with the Busuttin and Young-trained filly and in-form Jamie Mott takes the reins
