Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Renegades Big Bash League Tips - The result is a bat flip - take the under

In the upcoming Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Renegades match in the Big Bash League, expert tips suggest the game outcome could hinge on the bat flip, with expectations of low total scores due to both teams' inconsistent batting. The Adelaide pitch has proven challenging for batsmen, recommending strategic betting on the game under total. Gurinder Sandhu's exceptional form with 18 wickets and Lloyd Pope's local bowling prowess make them key players to watch, potentially claiming several wickets each in this match. Both teams have struggled to surpass an average of 330 runs recently.

Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Renegades Big Bash League Expert Tips

I would say the bat flip is likely to decide this one so take your chances with that if you like, otherwise, put your faith in the poor batting of both teams and jump on the under on the game total in this bottom of the table dead-rubber.

Both the Strikers and Renegades seasons are over so they will likely play their best cricket, but we are still backing the poor consistency they both have shown with the bat. Neither team’s top-order has performed well enough for them to play finals this season and the Adelaide pitch has been tough to bat on all summer so the under is the safest play here.

The under and the likelihood of Gurinder Sandhu to take a couple of wickets that is. The right-arm quick has been blasting wickets leading the league with 18 this season, and will thrive against the underdone batting order of the Strikers.

I also like Lloyd Pope to continue his wicket taking form at Adelaide over where he has claimed a double in his last two matches.

  • Gurinder Sandhu has taken 18 wickets in 9 matches for the Renegades.
  • Lloyd Pope has 13 wickets in BBL15.
  • 3 of 4 matches at Adelaide Oval have had a game total under 330 runs.
  • Neither team is averaging a match total over 330 runs in their last 5 matches.

Adelaide Strikers Form

The Strikers season can be summed up from the extremity of their last performance, scoring just 83 runs against the Stars at the MCG. A clear indication they are not in the league of the top 4 teams in the BBL this season.

Batting issues have often hampered their success. Liams Scott topped the scoring with 292 and Matt Short scored just 250, well below what we have come to expect from the Strikers opener. Add 151 total runs from Chris Lynn, scoring half of those in 1 innings, proves their incapability with the bat.

Loyd Pope (13) and Jamie Overton (12) took their wickets however, the economy of the bowling attack couldn’t balance the poor batting form.

Melbourne Renegades Form

The Renegades hopes of a finals spot were destroyed by the bat of Scorcher opener Finn Allen who hit his first century in BBL15 scoring 101 from 53 and getting moderate support through the innings. Perth put up 219 runs, a total that has not been reached by the ‘Gades this season and they didn’t get close, running out of overs with a score of 169/7.

Another year that had potential that wasn’t lived up to often due to their inability to put up a big enough score, batting first in 7 of 9 matches this season.

The highlight for the Renegades was the bowling form of Gurinder Sandhu who has taken 18 wickets in 9 matches, 3 more than any other in the competition.
