The latest iteration of The Ashes is here, with the most enthralling battle in cricket between England and Australia incredibly intense across the first four Tests.

Following three of the great Test matches in Birmingham, London and Leeds in England followed by a disappointing rained-off clash in Manchester, Australia have taken an unassailable 2-1 series lead in the five-match series, and they are currently $1.62 with bet365 to win the series. Can England find a way to win the fifth and final Test as they look to square the series?

Australia are the favourites to win the series at $1.62 with bet365, with the draw the second favourite at $2.30. England are now out of the betting as they can no longer win the series as they are 2-1 down with a single match at the Oval in London to come.

The first Test at Edgbaston was one for the ages as both sides fought for the win. England declared early in their first innings on 393/8 and bowled the Aussies out for 386 to lead by seven runs. England then battled to 273, setting Australia 281 to win.

Australia battled hard to reach their target with two wickets to spare to go 1-0 up as captain Pat Cummins starred with the bat to see his team home.

The second Test saw a barrage of short bowling as Australia set England an improbable 371 to win. England captain Ben Stokes threatened another unbelievable winning performance with the bat, but when he fell for 155, England were then skittled for 327 as the Aussies won by 43 runs to go 2-0 up.

Only a win would do for England in the third Test, and that is exactly what they got as they battled to an enthralling three-wicket win, with Mark Wood starring with both bat and ball.

The fourth Test threatened to be one England won in double-quick time as they bowled Australia out for 317 before flying to a total of 592. In reply, Australia were 214/5 when the rain saved them.

With Australia already holding The Ashes, it means the draw was enough to retain the urn. Now, England are playing to ensure they are not beaten across the series.

The last Ashes series played across 2021/22 in Australia. The Aussies managed to secure a 4-0 win in that series, with this following up a draw in England in 2019 and a win in Australia in 2017/18. England have not held The Ashes since 2015, following a 3-2 win in England.

The odds suggest that the Aussies are the favourites, but England will be confident they can win he fifth Test and secure a 2-2 draw following excellent performances in the third and fourth Tests.
