The midweek metropolitan action heads to Warwick Farm on Wednesday, with a competitive seven-race program featuring several progressive types.

Asahi Super Dry Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Warwick Farm Favourite - Race 3 No. 11 Saloon Passage

Race shape was against Saloon Passage first and second-up this preparation, including her June 3 resumption at Warwick Farm, when she settled back in a slowly run race that favoured those on speed.

Despite that, the Chris Waller-trained filly recorded the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m of the entire meeting before again being unsuited at Canterbury.

A significant market push at Hawkesbury last start was justified, and she should have won after striking trouble attempting to secure a run before being held up, while the eventual winner took the inside passage that she should have been in.

Saloon Passage still charged home late behind the winner and her stablemate, confirming she's ready to break through.

While back to metropolitan level, this isn't a strong maiden, and with the rise to 1400m another positive, there are no excuses fourth-up.

Warwick Farm Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 4 Champagne Hero

Champagne Hero heads to Warwick Farm for this Benchmark 72 instead of contesting the Grafton Guineas, where he also draws much more favourably.

The son of Maurice was gelded ahead of this preparation and had no luck when resuming here on June 24, where he was held up at a crucial stage after racing in restricted room around the home turn.

The rise to a mile second-up looks ideal, and he was well supported in betting for that first-up assignment over 1300m.

The Waterhouse & Bott-trained three-year-old was a strong second-up winner in the spring before contesting three stakes races, where he was competitive in two of them.

His lead-up work before this campaign was encouraging, particularly in a Randwick trial over 1050m on June 12, when he worked strongly through the line.

Irresistible Pools And Spas Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Warwick Farm Best Bet - Race 6 No. 8 Jarrito

There were genuine excuses when Jarrito failed at Hawkesbury before a spell, with post-race examinations revealing cardiac arrhythmia and bleeding from both nostrils.

The Bjorn Baker-trained three-year-old returned from the mandatory break with a convincing victory on the Kensington circuit on June 10.

She then held her own when rising in grade at Rosehill on June 27, sticking on well for fourth after finishing alongside Lady Invictus, who won at Canterbury last Wednesday, while runner-up Benevac bolted in at Randwick on July 11.

Any improvement in the track surface will suit, and she maps to settle on the speed from barrier two.

Engine Room may prove the best horse to come from this race long term, but his set-up is a query over this trip, giving Jarrito every chance to capitalise.

TAB Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Warwick Farm Value Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Voracious & No. 4 Winston Hills

It's an open finale, with Voracious and Winston Hills both appealing at double-figure odds.

Voracious has put together a solid overall record despite changing stables a few times, including a win for the Mack Griffith yard in February before failing in the Armidale Cup.

He was one-paced but competitive when fifth at Grafton on July 5 over 1190m, and the rise to 1400m is a significant positive.

Winston Hills will need some luck from a wide draw, but his only two poor runs this preparation have come on Heavy tracks, and firmer ground brings him right into contention.

His last win came over this course, grade and distance carrying more weight, while the form around his best Benchmark 78 performances this campaign reads well for this.
