Australia's Talia Gibson has a great opportunity to secure a sixth top 30 victory on hardcourt for the season as she faces vulnerable French Open runner-up Maja Chwalinska in the second round of the Canadian Open in Toronto on Tuesday.
Gibson shot to prominence during the Sunshine Double earlier this season, where she defeated the likes of Jasmine Paolini, Naomi Osaka, Iva Jovic, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Clara Tauson, reaching the quarter-finals of Indian Wells and the fourth round in Miami.
The Aussie hasn't quite been able to maintain that sort of level, but she's at her best on hardcourt and now she's been presented with a fantastic chance for another deep run at WTA 1000 level here in Toronto.
Chwalinska hasn't played since an opening round defeat at Wimbledon, where she rolled her ankle on match point. That means the Pole hasn't won a match since her stunning run to the French Open final from qualifying.
But importantly for Gibson's chances, Chwalinska remains unproven on hardcourt at tour-level. In fact, she's only won three tour-level hardcourt matches in her career and none over a player inside the top 80.
So with those numbers in mind, Gibson looks good value for the win, with a smaller stake on a straight sets victory. Of course Chwalinska's magical run to the Roland Garros final from qualifying will be her highlight of the season and almost certainly her career.
However, while it was an absolutely extraordinary achievement, it also must be noted that Chwalinska didn't defeat a top 20 player throughout that tournament and lost heavily to Mirra Andreeva in the final.
Chwalinska hasn't really had the chance to back up that run and continue to build on tour after hitting her career-high ranking of No. 21.
The 24-year-old was cruelly struck down by an ankle injury while holding match point in her opening round at Wimbledon against qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew, ultimately losing in three sets and being forced to pull out of Hamburg and other hardcourt tournaments.

Gibson enjoyed an outstanding breakout onto the WTA Tour at the beginning of the season, winning 11 of 13 matches during the Sunshine Double to burst into the top 100 for the first time.
The 22-year-old beat the likes of Alexandrova, Tauson and Paolini to make the Indian Wells quarter-finals from qualifying before toppling Jovic and Osaka to reach the R16 in Miami.
However, Gibson's form has tailed off since then, suffering first round exits at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, although she did make the quarter-finals on the grass of Nottingham.
Returning to hardcourts, Gibson lost heavily in the first round of Memphis last week to Tatjana Maria 6-0 6-3, but has advanced into the second round of Toronto in her main draw debut after Elisabetta Cocciaretto retired with the Aussie leading 6-2 3-2.
