The 2023 Rugby World Cup was arguably the greatest iteration of the tournament to date, meaning the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia has a lot to live up to.

With the tournament still someway off, bookmaker Picklebet have made 2023's beaten finalists in New Zealand the favourites at $3.50, but can they bounce back and snare the famous trophy?

Australia$8.00
England$9.00

New Zealand may have been left to rue what might have been in France in 2023, but they are currently the choice of bookmaker Picklebet to end South Africa's reign with the trophy at $3.50. Meanwhile, reigning world champions South Africa are $4.00 to secure their third trophy in a row.

France and Ireland are both available at $6.00, but the two should be backed with caution. Neither of the two sides have ever won a World Cup crown, and they underachieved in 2023 after promising so much on the pitch.

England ($9.00) arrive as one of the favourites despite battling through an underwhelming 2024. They have been improving, but will their improvements kick up a gear as we edge towards the tournament?

Australia are currently available at $8.00 to win the competition on home soil, but they will have to improve dramatically if they are to notch another World Cup triumph. The Aussies were eliminated in the group stage as Wales ($41.00) and Fiji ($34.00) progressed instead of them.

With the competition a long way off, teams will rise and fall in this time. It is often more important for a side to start their development now as they build towards the competition rather than being at the top of the betting now only to lose all of their biggest players.

Can Australia win the Rugby World Cup on their own soil, or will South Africa make it three wins in a row in the biggest tournament in the game?
