Rafael Jodar vs Arthur Fils ATP Montreal Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Arthur Fils is tipped to turn the tables on Rafael Jodar and advance into the Canada Masters semi-finals on Monday in a competitive contest that goes Over 22.5 games.

The big names may be absent from the Canada Masters this year, but there's still been come cracking tennis and this clash could end up being one of the matches of the tournament.

Jodar's rise has been simply insane - the 19-year-old is just three wins away from a stunning top 10 debut, which would shatter the 41-year record for least amount of time between breaking the top 100 and breaking the top 10 (Boris Becker did it in 210 days in 1985 and it would take Jodar 140 if he wins the Montreal title).

The Spaniard is 27-6 in his last 33 matches since the start of the clay swing and has advanced into his seventh quarter-final during that period. Remarkable consistency for someone so young.

Meanwhile, Fils has been every bit as good as Jodar when fit this season - the problem for the Frenchman is remaining healthy for sustained periods. After missing Roland Garros and not really featuring on grass, Fils is back to some of his best tennis and I was very impressed with the way he remained cool under pressure against a tricky Cameron Norrie in the R16 to prevail in straight sets.

These two played a little over a week ago in Washington and it was Jodar who emerged triumphant 6-3 7-6, but Fils now has more matches under his belt and I expect a very close battle here. Over 22.5 games is the main play and if Fils can continue the form that he produced against Norrie, I think he can come out on top - Jodar has played loads of tennis lately, barely having a break after the rain-delayed Washington final and a resurgent Fils could prove a step too far.
  • Jodar has won 27 of his last 33 matches
  • Jodar has dropped 1+ set in 11 of his last 17 matches
  • Jodar has lost three of his last four quarter-final matches
  • Jodar is 7-6 vs top 25 players this season
  • Fils has won 17 of his last 22 matches
  • Fils has won four of his last five quarter-final matches
  • Fils has won three of his last four matches vs top 20 players

Jodar vs Fils Head To Head

Level at 1-1. Fils prevailed in three sets in Barcelona at the start of the clay swing before Jodar came out on top in Washington to launch the summer in North America.

Rafael Jodar Form Analysis

  • 2026 ATP Record: 33-12
  • ATP Montreal Record: 3-0
  • Current Ranking: No. 15
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 15 (August 2026)

It's been a sizzling rise to the top of men's tennis for Jodar and he's far from done.

The 19-year-old was ranked No. 540 this time last year and No. 150 at the start of 2026. He's now just three wins away from cracking the top 10 after arriving in Montreal at No. 15.

Jodar has won 27 of his 33 matches since the start of the clay swing, highlighted by a maiden ATP title in Marrakech and quarter-finals in Rome, Madrid and Roland Garros.

The Spaniard also advanced to his first ATP 500 final in Washington to kick off the summer, where he went down to Taylor Fritz. Despite a short turnaround, Jodar has continued his fine form in Montreal, overcoming Corentin Moutet in three sets in his opener before straight set dispatches of Lorenzo Musetti and Jiri Lehecka.

Jodar won 24/28 points behind his first serve in a clean 6-3 6-3 win over Lehecka to make his seventh quarter-final in his last eight tournaments.

Arthur Fils Form Analysis

  • 2026 ATP Record: 26-9
  • ATP Montreal Record: 4-2
  • Current Ranking: No. 24
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 14 (2025)

Fils has battled his fair share of injuries over the last 18 months, but he remains inside the top 25 and is clearly a top 10 player when fully fit.

The 22-year-old has been electric for most of the season, winning the ATP 500 title in Barcelona and reaching the final in Doha, along with semi-finals at Masters 1000 events in Miami and Madrid and a quarter-final in Indian Wells.

Fils was forced to miss Roland Garros with a hip injury and he wasn't fully fit during the grass swing before running into Jodar in the first round of Washington.

However, the Frenchman is back to some of his best tennis in Montreal, advancing to the quarter-finals for the loss of just one set. Fils beat Zachary Svajda 6-4 3-6 6-1 in his opener before a dominant 6-3 6-2 win over Mariano Navone and quality 6-2 7-6(8) victory over Cam Norrie.
