Stan Wawrinka will play the final match of his professional career against Jiri Lehecka at the Swiss Open in Basel. Although Wawrinka, a three-time Grand Slam winner, will compete fiercely in front of home fans and is expected to force at least one set to a tiebreak, Lehecka is favored to win. Predictions highlight Lehecka’s recent success and Wawrinka’s struggles against top players this season. The match can be streamed live, and betting markets focus on tiebreak likelihood and total games played.

Jiri Lehecka vs Stan Wawrinka ATP Basel Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Stan Wawrinka's illustrious career is set to come to an end in front of his home fans at the Swiss Open in Basel when he comes up against Jiri Lehecka - but the three-time major champion won't go down without one last fight.

Lehecka almost certainly wins this match, but Wawrinka is still capable of moments of brilliance - I think the 41-year-old can extend at least one set to a tiebreak, but will likely fall short of the upset.

Over 0.5 Tiebreaks$1.72 @ UnibetWawrinka has seen 1+ tiebreak in eight of his last 10 tour-level matches & in five of his last six outings in Basel. Expect one last push from the homegrown hero
Lehecka Win & Over 20.5 Games$1.90 @ PicklebetWawrinka is 0-7 vs top 25 players this season, with three of the six BO3 matches featuring 21+ games. Lehecka is 8-3 in his last 11 matches & 16-4 in opening matches in 2026 - he should be able to close this one out

This will be the first - and last - career meeting between the pair.

Jiri Lehecka Form Analysis

  • ATP 2026 Record: 36-20
  • ATP Basel Record: 0-2
  • Current Ranking: No. 21
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 12 (May 2026)

Fairly consistent season for Lehecka, with the main highlights including a maiden Masters 1000 final in Miami and a runner-up finish in Tokyo earlier this month, going down to Carlos Alcaraz.

However, the Czech has just fallen outside of the top 20 after losing his second match at both Shanghai and Brussels to Rafa Jodar and Tallon Griekspoor respectively.

Both of those players went on to reach the final of those tournaments, so certainly nothing for Lehecka to worry about - but he definitely won't want to lose to a retiring 41-year-old here.

Lehecka will be hoping for his first win in Basel after falling at the opening hurdle in 2024 and 2025.

Stan Wawrinka Form Analysis

  • ATP 2026 Record: 8-18
  • ATP Basel Record: 17-17
  • Current Ranking: No. 151
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 3 (2014)

It's been an extraordinary career for Wawrinka, who first turned pro in 2002, securing three Grand Slam titles in arguably the sport's toughest ever era and rising to No. 3 in the world.

The 41-year-old has never really played his best tennis in Basel, with semi-final runs in 2006 and 2011 his best results.

Wawrinka has shown glimpses of his best tennis throughout 2026 and beat rising star Martin Landaluce in Lyon last week before falling to Flavio Cobolli.

The Swiss is 0-7 vs top 25 players this season, but has taken sets from Cobolli, Taylor Fritz and Cam Norrie.
