Best Bet:

Race 6 No. 4 Dutch Por

He's prepared by a strong local yard, with Dutch Por now under the care of Albert Bowtell, who has nine winners at Geraldton this season at a good strike-rate of 21.95%.

The four-year-old caught the eye on stable debut when rattling home for third over 1100m and he recorded the fastest last 400m and 200m of the entire April 6 program.

Dutch Por made inroads once again when stepping to 1413m second-up and after drawing out in both outings this campaign, the son of Ducimus now jumps from gate one.

He's capable of settling closer to the speed (he led throughout when winning his maiden) and with any further improvement third-up, Dutch Por can bring up number two.

Value Bet:

Race 5 No. 1 Kermit's Luck

Without setting the world on fire, Kermit's Luck did enough first-up over 1100m and he was a notable late drifter in the market ahead of that table debut for Ron Cowl (Jnr).

While he's likely to progress after this outing and furnish over a little more ground, the gelding can improve over 1220m in Wednesday's second-up tilt (he returned over 1100m).

Second-up last autumn, Kermit's Luck placed in an Ascot Class 1 and he was also competitive in Saturday company only last winter, so he certainly has the class for this event.

Kermit's Luck settled further back than predicted in his April 6 resumption and over a shorter journey, he lacked the change up speed to genuinely threaten in that fresh run.

Market Mover:

Race 4 No. 7 Rock Da Hood

She produced a flat performance third-up on April 6, but her prior two runs were both encouraging and the mare did trial well leading into this campaign.

Neds punters have specked Rock Da Hood in the early markets ($18-$15).

Stats Say:

With 26 winners recorded at a terrific strike-rate of 29.55%, Natasha Faithfull is the leading jockey at Geraldton this season.

She has five engagements on Wednesday's program.
