Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 5 No. 8 Diana’s Affair
The son of Merchant Navy has shown improvement with racing since resuming with a ninth over 1200m at Ipswich.
Diana's Affair raced over an inadequate trip when jumping at $51 in that return and he took a step forward when a close up fourth over 1350m at Doomben next time.
The five-year-old suffered a half-length defeat when competing in a Benchmark 68 handicap that day and he broke through for a win at the same venue subsequently.
That victory saw the gelding triumph by nearly two lengths when stepped up to 1660m for a Class 3 handicap two weeks ago.
Both of those Doomben efforts came on good ground, however, the gelding does have winning form on wet tracks and the step up to 1845m is no issue.
Kelly Schweida’s representative gets in off a nice weight and having gone well here in the past, Diana's Affair can salute again.

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 8 No. 6 Rock Hard Love
The son of Pierro arrives here in good form, having won two of his three starts since resuming with a fifth over 1200m at Doomben.
Rock Hard Love brought up his second career win when saluting by half-a-length in a 1400m Class 1 handicap at this venue subsequently.
The four-year-old raced on a Soft 6 that day and he encountered similar conditions when finishing in mid-division over 1640m at Doomben next time.
Gary Doughty’s representative put that Doomben effort behind him dropped back to 1400m for a Class 2 handicap at Gold Coast last time.
He came home a length clear of his nearest pursuer when racing on a Heavy 9 that day and he steps back up in distance for this contest.
A wide alley is far from ideal, however, Rock Hard Love is often ridden cold, while Cobi Vitler’s three-kilogram claim is a positive here.
