Gallopers Sports Club QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Eagle Farm Next Best - Race 1 No. 13 Metric
Two encouraging race-day appearances have already highlighted the ability of Metric, who debuted over the road at Doomben in early March.
Contesting an 1110m maiden, the filly was beaten four lengths into fourth on a Good surface before showing up well with two trial victories in wet conditions at Doomben ahead of her return at the Gold Coast last month.
The drop in distance appeared no issue that day, with Metric finishing strongly to be beaten less than half a length after being ridden from the rear of midfield.
The form of that event has since received a boost, with the winner going on to score in an Open Handicap at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Kelly Schweida’s representative remains open to improvement and is taken to break her maiden, with Cejay Graham set to partner her for the first time.
Family Day Raceday 12 September Class 5 Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 4 No. 9 Ring Bearer
Although his best form last preparation came over further, there is still plenty to like about Ring Bearer on his first start back from a spell.
His latest success came over 1800m at the Sunshine Coast in February and, while that victory was on Good ground, he also boasts winning form on wet surfaces.
The six-year-old was spelled following a down-the-field effort here three starts later and showed up well when finishing second in a Sunshine Coast trial last month.
Ring Bearer has won first-up in the past, while an inside barrier is another positive in this field.
Taylah McKinnon’s gelding also ran well when second at his only previous start over this distance and, having won at Eagle Farm in May 2025, he may prove capable of scoring under Tiffani Brooker.
Mekka Raceday 22 August Class 1 Plate Tips (Race 5)
Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 5 No. 10 Spot The Aussie
A strong wet-track record from his previous preparation gives Spot The Aussie plenty of appeal here, with the gelding recording top-three finishes in all three starts on Soft or Heavy ground.
The four-year-old’s latest wet-track appearance saw him break his maiden over 1800m at the Sunshine Coast in February, scoring by just over half a length on a Soft 6.
Spelled following that effort, the gelding made two trial appearances before returning in a handicap over this track-and-trip two weeks ago.
David Vandyke’s representative produced a fair effort when finishing sixth on a Good surface and should have derived a fitness benefit from that first-up outing.
The return to a forecast wet track is in his favour and, from an inside barrier, Spot The Aussie rates as value to record a second-up victory.
Sky Racing Benchmark 68 Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Our Huntress
Back-to-back wins in wet conditions have Our Huntress arriving here in excellent form after also placing twice earlier in the preparation.
The latest of those came at Ipswich last month, where she justified $1.30 favouritism at Class 1 level over 1350m by seeing off eight rivals from the front on a Soft 5.
The mare had employed similar tactics when breaking her maiden in impressive fashion over this track-and-trip just over three weeks earlier.
A wide alley is far from ideal, although she should have enough early speed to overcome it and the return to 1200m is another positive.
Ben Thompson, who partnered her for both recent victories, retains the ride and, having made a strong start to the 2026/27 season, Our Huntress looks capable of completing the hat-trick.
