Moe Value Bet - Race 3 No. 6 Lost The Plot
Although Lost The Plot failed to make an impact in two starts during her first preparation, the mare trialled well ahead of her return to action.
She won two of three jump-outs leading into this campaign, including at Traralgon just under a month ago, before a switch to front-running tactics produced a much-improved first-up second at this venue.
Stepping up to 1217m, Lost The Plot finished three-and-a-half lengths behind the winner, with the Heavy conditions appearing to suit.
The blinkers worn for the first time that day remain in place, while barrier three gives her every chance to settle prominently again.
Daniel Stackhouse takes the ride for the first time and, with improvement already shown this preparation, Lost The Plot looks value to break her maiden at the fourth attempt.
Halls Plumbing Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)
Moe Best Bet - Race 4 No. 4 Koko
Wet conditions have suited Koko in the past, including when she finished second on Heavy ground last time out.
Racing over 1000m, the mare was beaten just under one-and-a-half lengths on a Heavy 9 surface, with the winner subsequently producing a respectable effort in metropolitan company at Flemington.
The four-year-old had previously raced four wide without cover around the home turn before being held up for a run when ridden cold in a sixth at Sale.
Barrier seven should not pose an issue for Mark Walker’s representative, who is expected to track the speed and settle in a suitable position.
The booking of Jamie Mott is another positive and, with the conditions expected to suit, Koko looks capable of breaking through at start eight.

Some strong efforts in Heavy conditions this preparation give Atella Miss solid claims, including a first-up second over this course and distance.
Competing on a Heavy 10 surface that day, the mare was beaten just one-and-a-half lengths before putting a below-par Geelong effort behind her with a breakthrough win at Murtoa last time.
Racing from the front on a Soft 7, the five-year-old came home more than two lengths clear of her nearest rival.
The return to this distance appeared to suit and she now looks ready to handle the rise in grade.
Nadia Daniels should have little trouble finding the front from barrier eight, while Matt Laurie’s sole runner on the card looks capable of recording the second victory of her career.
Team Staffing Solutions BM56 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Moe Roughie - Race 8 No. 10 Rockcliff
Two placings from three starts this preparation have veteran Rockcliff arriving here in solid form.
The exception came from a wide draw when he finished sixth over 1100m at Hamilton earlier this month, beaten three-and-a-half lengths from barrier 12.
Prior to that, the gelding had produced two good efforts at Donald, including a third in a Benchmark 0-56 handicap when beaten just over one-and-a-half lengths.
Racing over 1006m on a Soft 7 that day, Rockcliff jumped well and tracked the speed, while the forecast Heavy 10 conditions are a positive given he has won three times on Heavy ground, including first-up this preparation.
Ray Besanko’s gelding also draws favourably on the inside and may prove capable of registering the fifth win of his career.
