If we completely disregard for and against then both of these teams are only 2 wins out of the top 8 which at this point of the season is incredible.

The question you need to ask yourself here is - do I go with the inexperienced but dangerous halves pairing of the Eels or do I go with the tried and tested Titans? This editor is siding with the latter until further notice.

Gold Coast have scored 20+ points in 5 straight games against Parramatta and did show enough last weekend to tell me that they haven’t completely forgotten how to score tries. There is still a lot to fix defensively and my prediction is that the young Eels will probably try to do too much to win and the pressure will get to them.

The Titans don’t get themselves into scoring position as much as most other teams (14th in Tackles Inside 20m) but once there, they know how to convert. They score for every 8 tackles in the Red Zone putting them at the 3rd highest Tryscoring Efficiency in the NRL.

Parramatta’s goalline defence is below average and their conversion rate inside the Red Zone is worse than Gold Coast’s.
