Randwick Favourite - Race 3 No. 10 Spirit Of Wealth

It was a drama-filled first prep, which began with a slick debut victory at Newcastle before a disqualification denied her a second triumph at Warwick Farm.

Spirit Of Wealth has been given plenty of time since failing when in the market for the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes, taken out by subsequent Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland.

While she resumes off a decent break, her two winter trials were as good as you’ll see, with the latest the fastest 800m heat on the August 18 set at Gosford.

It’s not a bad race to kick off against her own sex, but with black-type ambitions in play, this is the sort of field she needs to put away fresh.

Fitzgerald Jenkins Recruitment Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Randwick Roughie - Race 5 No. 8 Sun 'N' Sand

It looks a weaker line-up than the benchmark suggests, with Lord Penman heading the early market after catching the eye on his Australian debut.

Second-up from 1200m to 1600m and a wide draw are queries for the favourite, but his class could offset that. If you’re looking for a blowout, Sun 'N' Sand is over the odds second-up.

Off just one fair trial, her Goulburn return on heavy ground can be treated like another hit-out. The seventh-of-nine finish doesn’t read well, but she warmed up late.

Her three-year-old season was hard to fault - two from two in the spring before a spell, then a second-up win in February followed by three competitive Group efforts.

Asahi Super Dry Chelmsford Stakes Tips (Race 7)

Randwick Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Ceolwulf

Resuming in the Winx Stakes, Ceolwulf was forced back and wide, while the first three home all enjoyed softer, more economical runs.

Without a prior fresh win on his record, the effort was sound and matched the promise shown in his recent trial, suggesting he’s back on track after a mixed autumn.

The Joe Pride-trained gelding has always looked most effective around the mile, and he gets to that distance second-up on Saturday, while drawing kinder this time.

It’s a strong field that should prove a key form reference going forward, but at his pet trip against Cups contenders resuming, connections would expect him to be winning.

Drinkwise Tramway Stakes Tips (Race 9)

Randwick Next Best Bet - Race 9 No. 15 Swiftfalcon

He teased punters last campaign, but it’s a fresh slate for Swiftfalcon, who is best kept in the 1400m–1600m range.

The Team Hawkes galloper hasn’t been as effective beyond that trip, with his sharp turn-of-foot blunted when stepping out to 1800m-2000m.

He looks ready to fire fresh at seven furlongs, where he meets Linebacker 3kg better at the weights from their Randwick Guineas clash.

Linebacker draws wide and has bigger spring targets such as the Golden Eagle, while Swiftfalcon also comes up with a better gate than Private Eye, the race favourite.

Njt Cliff Clare Memorial Handicap Tips (Race 10)

Randwick Value Bet - Race 10 No. 7 Bauhinia

The three class runners here are Point And Shoot, Scintilla and Bauhinia. While the former two dominate the market, each-way odds are available for this mare.

Back on firmer ground and suited to the bigger Randwick circuit, we should get a clearer guide on her here after a fresh run at Wyong.

She showed above-average ability across her first two campaigns, including a slashing midfield effort at Group 2 level over this track and trip (should’ve finished closer).

Point And Shoot is well placed back on top of the ground but 1200m may be short of his best, while Scintilla has upside but is likely to improve off this run.
