Hahn Super Dry Maiden Tips (Race 1)

Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 1 No. 2 Country God

He's always shown ability at the trials and following a pair of December heat wins, Country God was respected in the market for a Saturday two-year-old event at Ascot.

After failing in that January 11 attempt, the youngster was tipped straight out and that metro race was taken out by Luana Miss, who was a Listed winner at her next outing.

He's since been gelded and Chris Parnham sticks for this return assignment, where Country God finds a weak maiden (second fav was beaten more than five lengths on debut at 25/1).

Pinjarra Best Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Peter Gunn

A wide barrier got in the way of Peter Gunn and a debut victory at Northam, where he settled back early from a wide alley despite jumping cleaner than he did in his trials.

The Sean & Jake Casey-trained galloper came from well off the speed to record the fastest last 200m of the entire June 25 program and he draws kinder at start two.

There appeared to be some depth to that Northam event, which has already produced another winner, while the step up to 1200m is another positive for Peter Gunn.

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Couldhavebeen

There were excuses fresh at Northam, where Couldhavebeen got back in a slowly run 1300m and with rise in trip suiting second-up, the grey improved off that return effort.

The six-year-old was still a run short in that June 26 performance, but coming out of a fast-run race should bring him on nicely and he bolted in third-up last prep on wet ground.

After carrying 60kg via his last three outings, Couldhavebeen gets handy relief after the 3kg claim from Zephen Johnston-Porter, while his best two runs have both come at Pinjarra.
