Ray White Ipswich Maiden Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Ipswich Best Bet - Race 2 No. 4 La Profecia
La Profecia showed promise in two starts during his first preparation, including a third-place finish at the Gold Coast on debut. He followed that effort with a respectable fourth at this circuit before heading to another Gold Coast maiden over 1100m first-up this campaign.
Racing on a wet track for the first time, the gelding settled close to the speed before finishing sixth. While the result was only fair, there were enough positives in the run to suggest he can improve sharply second-up.
Beaten just under three-and-a-half lengths on that occasion, the son of Divine Prophet is expected to derive a fitness benefit from the outing. With only three career starts under his belt, there remains scope for further progression.
Barrier five should allow him to enjoy a favourable run in transit, and he looks capable of settling in a prominent position once again. The race doesn't appear any stronger than the one he contested first-up.
The three-year-old represents the powerful Tony Gollan stable and, with natural improvement expected, he looks well placed to break through for his maiden victory.

Ipswich Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 8 Our Brave Lini
Wet-track form is a key asset for this filly, who has recorded a win and a runner-up finish from two starts on Soft ground. Both performances came on a Soft 5 surface, conditions she is likely to encounter again here.
Her maiden victory came at this track three starts ago when stepping up to 1950m. Settling near the rear from a wide draw, she finished strongly to score by over a length.
That form has stood up nicely, with a pair of runners from the race winning subsequently. While she found the rise to Group 2 company beyond her, the experience was valuable.
The Heroic Valour filly produced a more encouraging effort when fifth in a Class 1 over 1800m at the Gold Coast last time out. She wasn't beaten far and stuck on well against stronger opposition.
The return to softer conditions and a longer trip are both positives, and she looks capable of returning to winning form with the benefit of that recent run under her belt.

Ipswich Value Bet - Race 4 No. 9 Vixenette
Rain-affected conditions look ideal for this mare, whose record includes a Ballarat victory on soft ground last spring. The daughter of Trapeze Artist appears well suited by the forecast conditions.
The mare resumed for her new trainer Matthew Dunn at the Gold Coast last month. Sent around at big odds on a Soft 6 track, she finished sixth in a competitive 13-runner Benchmark 68 contest.
That race has proven strong form, with both the winner and third placegetter going on to score at their next starts. The performance was better than it may appear on paper.
She took a clear step forward second-up at Murwillumbah, finishing second on a Heavy track after going down by less than a length. That effort suggested she is nearing peak fitness.
The rise to 1350m poses no concerns given she has won over further previously, and she appeals as a genuine value runner with Daniel Moor taking the ride.

Ipswich Favourite - Race 5 No. 1 Everybody Rise
Chasing a hat-trick of victories, this gelding has returned in excellent order with two wins from as many starts this preparation. Both successes have come on the Sunshine Coast synthetic track.
His latest triumph came over 1100m at 0-62 level, where he put nearly two lengths on his rivals at the finish. It was a dominant display that suggested there may be further improvement to come.
The form out of that race has held up well, with the second and third placegetters both running placings at their subsequent starts. The sixth horse home has also won since.
While switching back to turf presents a different challenge, wet ground should not be an issue. He has previously placed on both Soft and Heavy surfaces, indicating he can handle the expected conditions.
Taylor Marshall retains the ride for trainer Jack Bruce and, despite drawing wide, the gelding looks capable of continuing his winning run if he can secure a suitable position in transit.
