Moe Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 8 Too Tough
The four-year-old produced two encouraging efforts in his first preparation, finishing in the placings on both occasions.
The first of those came when he debuted with a narrow defeat at Mornington in early November.
Racing on a Good track, the gelding found only a more experienced rival too strong after finishing off strongly.
Similar tactics were employed at Pakenham next time, where he again worked home well to finish third.
While beaten just over two lengths on that occasion, the performance had merit, and a Cranbourne jumpout win earlier this month suggests he is ready to make a winning return.
Ladbrokes Place Extra To 10th BM56 Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Moe Value Bet - Race 5 No. 3 Sub Gauge
There is plenty to like about proven wet-tracker Sub Gauge as he resumes for his first start of 2026.
The gelding performed consistently in five starts last preparation, including a runner-up finish at Kilmore when returning to action.
That effort came on a Soft 6 surface, where he was beaten less than a length over 1107m.
He went one better at Warrnambool next time, taking out a similar event on Heavy ground over 1000m.
A previous win at Moe adds further appeal, while a pair of recent jumpout performances suggest he is capable of making a winning return under Steph Hateley.

Moe Best Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Godtfred Kirk
Wet-track form provides confidence for Godtfred Kirk ahead of his first attempt on a Heavy surface.
The three-year-old recorded his lone career victory in a metropolitan maiden on Soft ground at Sandown last August.
He has continued to race well since, including a strong return at Pakenham last month.
Competing over 1100m on a Soft 6 track, the gelding was beaten only two lengths after settling midfield.
The form from that race has already been franked, and with the rise in trip no concern, he looks well placed to add a second career win.
S&S Equipment Rental & Sales BM56 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Moe Roughie - Race 8 No. 2 Sensational Ruler
Recent course form reads well for Sensational Ruler, who has produced two solid efforts at Moe this preparation.
The latest of those came when finishing third in an 11-runner Benchmark 56 contest after returning from a spell.
Following a slow start, the gelding settled back in a race that was dominated by the winner from the front.
He was arguably the best performed runner among those making ground from off the speed that day.
A better barrier draw is in his favour this time, and if he handles the forecast Heavy conditions, he appeals as an attractive roughie at odds.
