All nine events on the June 14 program are black-type and our race-by-race preview is included below.
Race 1 - 11:43AM Sky Racing Gunsynd Classic Tips (1600m)
Best: 2. Just Party. He was gelded after two February runs and Just Party was excellent on return last month.
The son of Justify narrowly missed Media World in that Hawkesbury Guineas attempt and that form has held up.
Just Party was never a hope second-up in the Fred Best Classic, but he'll get more favours here from gate one.
Value: 7. Think Like Paddy. This ex-Victorian has won both starts since joining the Matthew Dunn stable.
After a stylish breakthrough, Think Like Paddy justified a strong betting push when saluting at the Gold Coast.
This is much harder at the top end, although the depth of this field is questionable and he'll run a strong mile.
Race 2 - 12:18PM Seven The Wayne Wilson Tips (1600m)
Best: 2. Transatlantic. This Tony Gollan-trained galloper requires one more scratching to make the Stradbroke field.
He beat Robusto at Eagle Farm (Group 2 winner the start prior) last prep when on the seven-day turnaround.
Transatlantic landed big bets last Saturday and while unproven at 1600m, this is arguably a weaker assignment.
Value: 10. Cranky Harry. I would've preferred him in a handicap, however, getting to 1600m suits Cranky Harry.
The gelding was doing his best late via his 1350m fresh tilt at Doomben and he'll relish a bigger Eagle Farm track.
There's a nice race in him and while he's not the best under WFA conditions, he has a great second-up record.
Race 3 - 12:53PM XXXX Brisbane Cup Tips (3200m)
Best: 1. Alegron. This six-year-old is aiming to defend his Brisbane Cup crown and firmer ground can see him improve.
Alegron has never won on heavy ground and he's only encountered those conditions in three runs this campaign.
His last good track run was in The Metrop, where he was inconvenienced (should've finished much closer).
Value: 5. Star Vega. Another looking for a form reversal is Star Vega, who didn't handle a testing track on May 31.
He was consistent in decent company last spring, with a hat-trick of placings recorded over October and November,
Among those top three finishes was a third in the Bendigo Cup, which proved to be a hot form race.
Race 4 - 1:28PM SEN Oxlade Stakes Tips (1200m)
Best: 1. Quietly Arrogant. He saluted at the Sunshine Coast winner before contesting the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Quietly Arrogant wasn't able to progress via his last two Sydney runs and he's been gelded as a result.
While the time wasn't flash, he moved through his gears well to win a May 30 trial and J-Mac takes the reins.
Value: 15. Smexy. She was good on debut behind a stakes-placed winner and Smexy went one better at start two.
It was only a narrow maiden triumph, but the runner-up franked that form with an easy win at his next outing.
This strong daughter of Pierata will furnish over more ground in time, albeit a competive showing here won't shock.
Race 5 - 2:03PM Drinkwise Hinkler Handicap Tips (1200m)
Best: 7. Need Some Luck. With five wins and six placings from 12 starts, Need Some Luck has been very consistent.
Chautauqua's half-brother has gone to a new level this prep, which opened with a BM88 victory at Rosehill.
He's been kept fresh since a slashing Gold Coast effort (fastest closing splits of the card when against the pattern).
Value: 9. Appin Girl. While she was back in a leader-dominated race, it was still a plain resumption from Appin Girl.
There were excuses for that May 24 effort, where she lost a plate and a slow recovery was also noted post-race.
1200m remains a query, however, her last two wins have come at Eagle Farm and firmer ground suits second-up.
Race 6 - 2:38PM Ladbrokes J.J. Atkins Tips (1600m)
Best: 2. Grafterburners. Spelled after a stylish win in QTIS Jewel on March 15, the Kelly Schweida-trained colt was unlucky not to land good bets via his May 17 return.
He covered ground and was brave via a third-place finish in the Spirit Of Boom Classic and while there were excuses second-up, Grafterburners was a little flat irrespective.
After drawing out in both appearances this campaign, Grafterburners now has gate two and Craig Williams takes the engagement for the JJ Atkins.
Next Best: 8. Hidden Achievement. Blinkers have been applied for Saturday's Group 1 assignment and this juvenile looks suited up in distance following a last start third.
While Hidden Achievement lost as favourite at Rosehill, he only balanced up late after tracking a slow tempo (fastest last 400m and 200m of the race).
He broke through prior to that despite not relishing a tighter turning Gosford circuit and along with a key gear change, he also gets the services of J-Mac.
Value: 5. Torque To Be Sure. Torque To Be Sure was well-held in fifth via the BRC Sires' Produce Stakes on May 31, but he was the pick of the closers behind Cool Archie in that lead-up.
The son of Shamus Award started fav vs the market elect on return, where he was only narrowly defeated, while he placed in two summer attempts.
His best two efforts have both come on good tracks and after campaigning on heavy ground second and third-up, he'll get underfoot conditions to suit.
Race 7 - 3:17PM Magic Millions Dane Ripper Stakes Tips (1300m)
Best: 6. Coco Jamboo. If you want to go wide enough, then this raffle could be a field leg for the quaddie.
Coco Jamboo was the run of this race last year (fastest last 200m) and she was going well before her third-up tilt.
She didn't handle heavy ground at Hawkesbury and the mare is following a similar pattern to 2024 (arriving fresh).
Value: 10. Arctic Glamour. This daughter of Frosted was spelled after a luckless Group 3 return in March.
Arctic Glamour is a while between drinks, but the mare should've won first-up in August via a stronger race.
Schwarz took out that Group 2 and that entire won two of his next four starts, which includes a Group 1 sprint.
Race 8 - 3:57PM The Star Stradbroke Handicap Tips (1400m)
Best: 7. War Machine. The Hayes boys have timed their Stradbroke run perfectly with War Machine, who cemented his position via a dominant BRC Sprint win a fortnight ago.
War Machine has relished fast speed over this distance range via his two outings and that holds him in good stead for a high pressure Stradbroke Handicap.
The query is that he hasn't raced at Eagle Farm, but as the form runner with 3.5kg less from his last assignment, War Machine is a deserving favourite.
Next Best: 1. Private Eye. With the veteran racing into early December and off a long spring campaign, Private Eye missed the autumn carnivals in both Sydney and Melbourne.
Every run will count from here on with the seven-year-old, who bypassed the Kingsford-Cup, as that event was moved and connections have opted for the Stradbroke Handicap.
The Group 1 winner has topweight of 57kg and he had the same impost when runner-up to Alligator Blood in the 2022 Stradbroke Handicap.
Value: 5. Yellow Brick. The forgotten runner of the field could be Yellow Brick, who was plain with a big weight first-up at Doomben, although he did land outside a fast tempo there.
He carries 6.5kg less from that BRC Sprint performance and while many have struggled on this Eagle Farm circuit, he's one who will relish the track switch.
From six starts at Eagle Farm, Yellow Brick has recorded four wins and two seconds, while he was a second-up winner over this track/trip last prep.
Race 9 - 4:30PM HKJC World Pool The Q22 Tips (2200m)
Best: 3. Militarize. Fertility issues ended to his stud career, with Militarize gelded and back to the races as result.
It's been a slow build-up, which is understandable and the son of Dundeel has improved with every run this prep.
With 2200m of the Q22 in mind, his Doomben Cup performance suggests that he's ready to peak on Saturday.
Value: 7. Osipenko. He was spelled after breaking a long drought in January and All Aged Stakes return had merit.
Osipenko ran the third-fastest closing splits of that Group 1 and he then clashed with a hard-fit wet tracker.
He regressed off that Hawkesbury run, but he covered ground in the Doomben Cup and this is the target.
