Andrey Rublev vs Arthur Fils Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Rublev can return to Monte Carlo quarter-finals

Rublev has linked up with former crowd favourite Marat Safin and their partnership got off to a winning start as the World No. 9 dismissed Gael Monfils in his Monte Carlo opener, while Fils is looking to reach a third consecutive Masters 1000 quarter-final having never previously making the last eight before this year.

All signs point to a close contest, so I'm backing Over 22.5 Total Games as one of the main plays. In terms of H2H, I'm leaning with Rublev. The Russian has converted two of his three previous R16 appearances in Monte Carlo to a final run, securing the title in 2023 and finishing as runner-up in 2021. Rublev clearly loves this tournament and working with Safin could prove a masterstroke. The only previous meeting between the pair resulted in a three-set victory for Rublev and I'll back a similar result here.

As mentioned, Rublev leads 1-0, taking out Fils by a 6-4 1-6 6-2 score in the Hong Kong quarter-finals last year.

It hasn't been a great season for Rublev, who comes into this clash with a 10-7 record.

Half of those wins came at one tournament, with Rublev putting together a brilliant run to the Doha title in February, defeating the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alex de Minaur and Jack Draper.

However, Rublev couldn't build on that run, losing his opening matches at both Indian Wells and Miami.

Heading into Monte Carlo without a Masters 1000 match win since Cincinnati in August 2024, Rublev announced his new coaching setup with Marat Safin - and the move has paid immediate dividends, with the World No. 9 toppling Gael Monfils 6-4 7-6, twice coming back from a break down in the second set and saving multiple set points.

Rublev has played well in Monte Carlo in the past, beating Rafael Nadal on his way to the 2021 final and conquering Holger Rune to capture his maiden Masters 1000 crown in the 2023 final.

Fils has enjoyed a seismic rise into the world's top 15 and comes into this encounter with a 13-6 record on the season.

It took a while for Fils to get going in 2025, which wasn't helped by a third round retirement at the Australian Open.

The 20-year-old found his groove during the Sunshine Double, reaching back-to-back Masters 1000 quarter-finals in Indian Wells and Miami, defeating World No. 2 Alexander Zverev in the latter before running into eventual champion Jakub Mensik.

Fils has continued his red-hot form in Monte Carlo, taking out Tallon Griekspoor in three sets before snapping the winning streak of Bucharest champion Flavio Cobolli, easing past the Italian 6-2 6-4.
