Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers are both trying to keep their finals hopes alive when they square off to launch A-League Round 21 action on Friday night at Suncorp.
You'd think this is a must-win game for either side if they want to feature in the finals - Brisbane have won just one game in 2026 and picked up the fewest amount of points of any side in the competition across the last 10 games, while the Wanderers are anchored to the bottom of the ladder and six points adrift of sixth following last week's tight loss to leaders Newcastle.
Despite that defeat, I think the Wanderers are in much better form right now and it wouldn't surprise me if they went on a run late in the season. I always thought the Roar were over-performing and they've certainly come crashing back down to earth. I'm taking Western Sydney on the road with both teams finding the back of the net, while Ryan Fraser is excellent $5.10 value at Unibet to score this third goal for the Wanderers (compared to $2.80-3.50 at most other books).

It's been a hugely disappointing season for the Wanderers, there's no two ways about it.
Their squad is good enough for the top four, but they just haven't been able to get going all season.
In saying that, these last couple of months have definitely their most fruitful stage of the campaign - they've gone unbeaten in four of their last seven, thumped Macarthur 4-0 and only lost to leaders Newcastle and the in-form Mariners.
The Wanderers took the lead against the Jets last week through Bozhidar Kraev, but couldn't hold on as they conceded two second-half goals.
