Inspirational Girl secured William Pike an Australian riding record at Belmont on Saturday in bringing up his 235th winner for the season and breaking his own record tally in the process.
Speaking with TABradio on Monday, the champion jockey flagged a possible intention to head east for the spring majors with some of them likely to include Western Australian gallopers in Regal Power, Showmanship, Arcadia Queen and Superstorm.
“The way it is panning it looks like I will have to go over and base myself up there for a little while." Pike said.
“The plans change daily pretty much with the rules changing every other day, but the plan is to head over and try to win a big race.
"How it's going to happen and how it's going to look I'm not really sure but it's definitely on the radar."
If required to stay in Victoria for a prolonged period of time, Pike is willing to go to them lengths in a bid for success in the east.
"I've discussed it with the family and they know it's a great opportunity," Pike said.
"Everyone seems pretty supportive."
"My main focus would be the horses I'm going across for but I think I'd have to do my best to get other rides," Pike said.
"Only if it is to familiarize myself with the riders and with the tracks along with just the east coast in general.
"I'd be doing my best to take rides and get winners like usual without trying to jeopardize the main goal that I'm there for."
