He showed promise in three runs during his first Australian prep and built on that platform with a strong first-up victory at Canterbury over 1550m.

Staying under a mile then worked against him second-up, where he was again finding the line strongly late in a 1500m contest that didn’t allow him to reach top gear.

A dual winner in France at 2000m and 2100m, the gelding looks ready to progress and stepping to 1800m third-up appears the ideal scenario for him.

The wide draw is a clear knock on paper, however with fitness now built and a light weight on his back, there’s a genuine opportunity to press forward over this journey.

Chandon Ming Dynasty Quality Tips (Race 6)

Rosehill Favourite - Race 6 No. 1 Autumn Boy

This Chris Waller-trained colt is already being touted as a Caulfield Guineas prospect and could firm into favouritism with a winning return.

He was stylish in scoring on debut in June at a long price when defeating a handy stablemate in Central Coast, an effort that marked him as above average.

The step to 1400m proved no issue when he saluted at Listed level in Brisbane, a trip he resumes at here following two solid trials through August.

A good barrier draw gives him options and he has already shown adaptability across varying ground, with victories recorded on both a Soft 7 and Good track.

Rosehill Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 8 Gangsta Granny

Gangsta Granny has been unlucky to run into the unbeaten potential star Autumn Glow at her last two starts, yet the Team Hawkes runner continues to hold her form at a high level.

She has proven ultra-consistent to this point, with three wins and three placings from just six starts, and importantly she has handled different surfaces without issue.

Her on-pace racing style makes her tactically reliable and she twice scored over 1200m last preparation, which is the distance she reaches at her second run back this campaign.

Joliestar is the proven class runner of the field, but she carries 5kg more, already has an Everest slot locked in, and with the favourite vulnerable on rain-affected ground, this looks a winnable assignment for Gangsta Granny.

Rosehill Bowling Club Handicap Tips (Race 10)

Rosehill Value Bet - Race 10 No. 7 Brosnan

He should only strip fitter now two runs into his return from a one-year absence and looks to be building back to his old form.

The gelding was well held on a Heavy 8 when resuming, but his second-up effort was more encouraging when working into the race despite restricted room at stages.

His poor overall strike rate doesn’t do justice to the talent he displayed as a two and three-year-old when contesting far stronger company.

With further improvement likely and a fitness edge now in his favour, Brosnan shapes as the value runner to finish off the program.
