Midway Handicap Tips (Race 1)
Rosehill Roughie - Race 1 No. 6 Khumbila
He moved well in a decent open class heat via a May 9 Rosehill trial, but Khumbila was a notable drifter first-up and the four-year-old didn't handle a Heavy 8 in that return.
It was improved effort second-up at Canterbury, where the gelding ran the second-fastest last 800m/600m and 400m, and that 1200m outing should top him off nicely.
Khumbila was slow out from a wide draw in that last appearance, however, he's capable of settling much closer and there should be intent third-up from gate two.
TAB Highway Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Rosehill Favourite - Race 2 No. 1 Think Like Paddy
Matthew Dunn always has to be respected in a Highway, with the Murwillumbah trainer having prepared 39 Highway winners in total, which includes a track/trip success on May 31.
Think Like Paddy has been in terrific form since joining the Matthew Dunn stable, with back-to-back victories recorded before contesting the Gunsynd Classic.
He wasn't disgraced in that recent Group 3 attempt, which does stand out for a Class 3 Highway, although coming back in trip is a knock (does class get him home?).
Captivant @ Kia Ora Handicap Tipps (Race 3)
Rosehill Best Bet - Race 3 No. 9 Puntin
This Bjorn Baker-trained galloper opened his career with a winning hat-trick and he was then spelled after a runner-up finish behind a smart stablemate.
Point And Shoot was then unlucky in the Australian Guineas, while Mare Of Mt Buller (subsequent Group 3 winner) also contested that February 8 event.
There was good market push for Puntin ahead of his first-up assignment, where he was narrowly beaten and second-up over 1400m, there's improvement to come.
Irresistible Pools Stayer's Cup Tips (Race 7)
Rosehill Value Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Mormona
It was a sound return over 2000m, where Mormona got warm late and the six-year-old then progressed over 2400m when contesting the Listed Winter Cup.
The Archibald-trained galloper made ground for a sixth-of-fourteen finish in that June 14 feature and in the process, he ran the fastest last 800m/600m/400m and 200m of the race.
Mormona was a 3000m Listed winner in France before heading to Australia and now third-up with a 2400m run under the belt, this is his best to chance to salute Down Under.
WJ McKell Cup Tips (Race 9)
Rosehill Feature Bet - Race 9 No. 1 Adelaide River
The class runner of the field is Adelaide River, with the Williams-owned import resuming as a gelding and he's won two June trials leading into this.
A Group 3 winner in Ireland, the gelding was also Group 1 placed on three occasions when under the care of Aidan O'Brien and his two best runs in Australia have both come fresh.
The last of those was a fourth-place finish behind Buckaroo in the Chelmsford Stakes and Adelaide River recorded the fastest last 200m of that Group 2.
