Ladbrokes Mega Multi Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)

Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Too Tough

The Cindy Alderson stable is in good touch, with six winners and three placegetters from her last 14 starters, and she prepares Too Tough, who was in the market on debut at Mornington and made ground for an eye-catching second.

The gelding wasn’t working around slouches in his prior spring jump-outs, producing a third behind the smart Tennessee Bound, who won her first three starts.

A pushed-out Otago, a city-class galloper, had his measure in another heat and Too Tough then produced a quiet showing in another strong heat.

Interestingly, he was scratched from Geelong on Wednesday, where he drew low, but this looks a weaker maiden.

RW Advisory Group Class 1 Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Pakenham Favourite - Race 4 No. 2 Naitanui

An extra 100m should suit Naitanui going off the fresh breakthrough, where the gelding came from off the speed and recorded a soft win in the end.

Adding merit to the performance was that he was the only one making any serious ground, with the second and third home being the early leaders, and compared with the Ararat Bowl on that November 9 program, that race rated fairly well for maiden class.

He was given time after a disappointing second start on May 25, which followed a second on debut behind Esquel, who was a metro winner at her next appearance.

A half-brother to six-time Group winner Campionessa, Naitanui finds a thin Class 1 on Friday night.

Ultrasigns BM70 Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Pakenham Best Bet - Race 6 No. 4 Feeling Dusty

After a debut fifth, Feeling Dusty recorded two wins and three seconds from his next five attempts, with the local gelding progressing nicely in his second campaign, which culminated with a runner-up finish via a metro BM70.

A wide draw did him no favours first-up in the Subzero Handicap on VRC Oaks Day, where he got warm late with the second-fastest last 200m of that greys race, and the four-year-old put two lengths on Le Zebra, who bolted in with the Dunkeld Cup at his next outing.

He is back up in the weights, but this is a much easier race at BM66 level and he's carried similar imposts via his previous two wins at Pakenham.

With the extra furlong a positive, Feeling Dusty does look very well placed.

Tassie Fine Foods BM66 Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Pakenham Value Bet - Race 8 No. 3 Snappy Secret

The seven-year-old doesn’t win out of turn, however he is often thereabouts and arrives off two nice chasing performances to open the prep, including the fastest last 600m of the November 9 Ararat meeting in the latest.

The step to 1200m is the right move off two 1100m efforts, and his last two victories have come over this journey.

Snappy Secret remained competitive after a BM64 success in May last year, which includes metro placings through that winter and indicates he can hold form when he finds the right race shape.

Via his last third-up showing in November last spring, he carried a similar impost when runner-up in a BM70, a stronger race than this BM66, and he has each-way claims at a big price.
