Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 2 Caelius

The blinkers were applied following an even debut effort in April and Caelius progressed at start two when finishing third-of-ten over this track/trip.

He should've finished closer in that May 8 attempt, as the son of Pierro was held-up at key stages and he was strong late once clear (race-fastest last 200m).

That winner (Gabor) looks above average and with more improvement to come via a field that appears weaker, Caelius can breakthrough on Thursday.

Pakenham Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Animal

This three-year-old was set a big task via his debut at Pakenham on April 24, where Animal spotted them a start and he made ground without threatening.

With the winner (Egerton) bolting in with a BM64 at her next start and Stahnado (fourth) a recent maiden winner, that form is holding up nicely.

Animal has been back to the jump-out's and in that May 19 heat, he worked as well as Let'sfacethemusic (Group placed) and Alero (won her last two) was third in that jump-out.

Pakenham Value Bet - Race 5 No. 5 Seindeel

Six furlongs is on the sharp side for Seindeel, although this three-year-old does have some class and ability can take him a long way first-up in a BM64.

He was good without luck on debut and the gelding quickly atoned at start two when defeating Belle Detelle (Group 3 winner) and Mary Eliza (metro winner).

The son of Dundeel followed that Seymour win up with a solid chasing effort at Flemington and in the process, he beat two subsequent Saturday winners (Garnacho and Zourain).

Pakenham Roughie - Race 8 No. 7 Turf Two

The Patrick & Michelle Payne stable are in decent touch, with five winners over the past seven days and that includes a double at Seymour on Tuesday.

They prepare Turf Two, a lightly raced five-year-old who was spelled after a third-up failure in January, but her lead-up work in autumn was strong ahead of her recent return.

That fifth-of-nine over the Cranbourne 1300m was a pass mark, where Turf Two was in restricted room and she's well placed back in grade here.
